Andy Gill and his assistant helped me with the re-wiring of a ceiling spot light in my new art studio. They were first-rate in every way: professional, courteous and very knowledgeable and skilled. I could not be happier, and I will definitely call on them again when needing help on an electrical matter. Service: Installation

We had a pipe from our AC that was leaving a huge puddle in our backyard. They were very responsive when we called and rerouted the pipe to an area with better drainage within 45 minutes! A week or so later our AC stopped working. They came out the very next day and had it running within an hour. It turned out it was just a short in the wiring and was an easy fix!

They were honest about the simplicity of the repair, and the price was extremely reasonable. Both experices were above and beyond, and everyone we interacted with was super friendly! We will be calling them first for everything possible from now on. Highly recommend!

Technician Eric Hersh was accompanied by Technician Larry. They both were professional and efficient. We had them install three ceiling fans, raise a chandelier and reset our outdoor timer for flood lights. Eric explained to be how to reset the outdoor timer in a safe manner since our system is super old school. We will have them again when we decide to move forward on other electrical home projects.

Today Eric & Larry called ahead & arrived at our home at the designated time to install outdoor lights as well as troubleshoot an indoor overhead light. Both were professional & very knowledgeable. Work was completed in a timely manner and explained to me exactly what had been done. I had first used Davis & Green last year. That team was exceptional as well. Really happy with communication, both during the initial estimate and during follow up texts. Andy made the whole process easy for us. Quick turn around on the project and great day of service. We had the best possible experience with this company. We had a piece of equipment ready for installation but our tech was not comfortable turning the machine on until the power was checked. Davis & Green had an electrician there the next morning, super knowledgable and had everything resolved immediately. Also the price for service was very reasonable. We are all very impressed and we will be using them again for all of our future electrical needs.

Unfortunately I can't rate their service because they aren't very good at basic communication. The company responded to a job request I had, but the person responding didn't bother to read the three or four sentences I submitted about the job, and when they responded, they sent me a quote that was more than $10,000 high simply because she didn't read what I wrote. It's very possible it was an auto-generated response, but that's also a problem as far as I'm concerned.

Once we put that behind us, I attempted to set up a time to chat with an electrician about my job(s), and I asked about available times to chat, but there was no response, and that was two weeks ago (to the day actually). Unfortunately this is what I've come to expect from businesses in this area. I do wonder how folks in this area earn a living.

We purchased a house and were not happy with the way our power line attached to the soffit. In November Davis and Green sent someone out to install an anchor. This past weekend we noticed that the anchor was pulling away from the house. A call to Davis and Green led to a technician to come out immediately and check the situation. Davis and Green took full responsibility for the situation and agreed to send a team out to install a permanent fix to the situation and said there would be no charge for the work. We will use them again and recommend them to anyone who needs electrical work done. Professional, respectful, clean, and explained everything.

Eric and Terry were an absolute pleasure to work with. Eric originally came to give us an estimate to add in lights and outlets under our staircasw, but told us that they could actually complete the work today if we wanted. We went through with using them and could not be any happier. They were both professional and polite while here. I highly recommend working with Davis & Green Electrical!

I called Davis and Greene on a Friday night. It was an emergency. Panel box was starting to make lights flicker and kick out hvac. I spoke with Chris within 5 mins of my call. Asked what kind of panel box I had and asked for pics. Told me probably needed to be replaced. Told me if I had to have that weekend, it would be emergency rate. Which I understood. Told me they could get to me on tues or Wednesday. Monday morning they called and could get to me that day. They sent Tony Brown. He did a fantastic job. There were no surprises. The will was exactly what I was quoted on the phone. I am very happy with the work!

The electrician called to let me know when he was on the way and also sent a text with a picture attached. The electrician, Andy, and his trainee were very professional and courteous. I had decided to use Davis & Green because I used them to install a fan many years ago and the price was very reasonable. Today I had two fans, which I purchased, installed and the price was $514.

I thought this was extremely high but had them install the fans anyway. They removed the boxes and trash when they left, and they did a good job with the fans, but I don't think I can recommend them to family and friends because I'm sure there are electricians out there whose prices are reasonable

I am a real estate broker in Metro Richmond (40 year career) and I have personally used Davis & Green for decades. I've also referred them to dozens and dozens of my residential real estate clients. In the past, they have always performed great work at a reasonable price. HOWEVER, on their most recent service call to my personal home on 1/13/22, the scheduler had failed to make me aware of their new flat rate fee of $400 to simply install one overhead fixture in my breakfast room.

The entire job took much less than even ONE HOUR to complete! Their work was excellent as always, but their pricing reflects gouging the customer. Heck, my dentist just last week only charged me $165 for THREE HOURS (included his assistant too) of extremely complicated dental work related to recent oral surgery! Be sure you first check out what Davis & Green is going to charge you before confirming an appointment with them.

I think, like a lot of companies, they are greedily gouging consumers and unjustifiably using "inflation" as their excuse to do so. Needless to say, I will no longer be referring them to my clients and customers.

Twice I scheduled a Home Generator quote. First time they kept changing to time to show up, rescheduled. Two more weeks then I get a text to say they are on there way and never show. I talk to CS and Bran states he showed at my house. But, that is a lie. I have a door cam and both my wife and I WFH. Both our offices face the front of the house. They made me feel like I was lying about not answering the door. Will never use!

I just bought a house in the area and the previous home owners seemed to have wired the house themselves. Regardless the service men at Davis & Green Electrical were extremely friendly and communicated thoroughly about what they were doing and was able to fix all the issues I had. Wouldn't hesitate to call again if I have any further electrical issues!

Not many companies service the type of heating equipment I have. My search for a company that could meet this need was becoming tedious until I discovered Davis & Green. Joey was very polite and knowledgeable about my home's system. While I only called for a specific problem, I learned that Davis & Green is not limited in the number of other services they offer like some of the other companies I contacted. I will be calling upon them for other projects that I have in mind. Thank you Davis & Green Electrical!

David called the day before and the morning of to remind us of the upcoming appointment to troubleshoot & perform maintenance on our Generac emergency generator. He arrived right on time and immediately recognized the problem and went to work. David was extremely courteous and reminded me of the advantage of joining the "club" to have annual service thereby saving us $$ on this first call. D&G could not have a better ambassador representing their company in David!

Andy and Braden did an outstanding job adding several outlets and and recessed lighting to our home. They were very professional and courteous throughout their visit. They made sure all areas were neat and clean prior to departing. Highly recommend Davis and Green as we have used them for a few projects and we have not been disappointed in the quality of their workmanship.

I called about repairing my A/C drain line after another company supposedly repaired it. The other company did not show up when scheduled or call to reschedule so I decided to just use another company. Davis & Green did all the electrical renovations in my home in 2014 with great work and service so I thought I would give their A/C department a try.

They did not let me down. David Baker sent me a text with his picture saying when he would be at my house, he was on time, he showed me where the problem was, repaired it the same day I called. I'll be using them again and referring my clients to them. Thank you!

I saw several commercials for this company and called them for an estimate recently with installing multiple exterior outlets. They came out and took pictures and measurements promising me a quote in a few days. But a few days passed and no quote, so I called them and they told me that the quote was coming. The quote never came. Too bad they wasted my time, I found another company instead and gave them my business. If you can't produce a quote, then don't waste your customers time! Would not recommend this company!

Jason and JD came to hook up my kitchen faucet, garbage disposal and dishwasher after having my cabinets and countertops replaced. My general contractor David Hudson recommended them and they did a wonderful job. Quick, polite and very professional. I will definitely be calling them again in the future!

I've worked with Davis & Green twice and worked with Eric both times. They were prompt, extremely professional and did good work. I was so impressed the first time I asked Eric to come out and install some outlets for me. I called Davis & Green to come out and give me an estimate. Said he would have a quote no later than Tuesday. Tuesday, no quote. Wednesday no quote, Thursday no Quote. Called three times and was told someone would call me back. No call back. If you don't want my business, just tell me. I give quotes out everyday and I always call back regardless if I can get the quote or not. It's called common professionalism. May do a good job, but I guess I'll never know.

Mike and his associate were wonderful. The light fixture that I chose to have installed was not an easy task (weird fixture and difficult placement), but they got the done job and even cleaned up and disposed of the large box for us afterwards. We will definitely use them for future electrical needs!

If you value your money don't go with this company. I have just moved into Chester VA a month ago. I had only been in my house for about 2 weeks before I noticed a problem with the electricity. My husband use to be an electrician in the military, but he is disabled now and cannot work the way he use to. In an effort to please me, he said it would be ok for me to hire an electrician. Davis and Green charge $110.00 per hour to come out and fix whatever is wrong.

I said fine, fully expecting to have to pay $600.00 or more have the problem fixed. When the electricians got there, my husband explained to them exactly what the problem was in detail. 4 hours after that, the electrician comes to us and says "I am baffled. I don't know what to do, but I have another job to get to. We will have to come back and figure this one out." AND THEN HANDS US A BILL FOR $440.00!

So yes, he did basically nothing for 4 hours and expected to be paid. After arguing with my husband, during which time the lights literally switched off on us while he was standing there trying to say that it MIGHT hold for a while, he reduced the bill by $24.00. My husband called the office to express his disgust. After about 45 minutes of back and forth we all agreed to reduce the bill down to $208.00, which is equivalent to 2 hours of work and a small discount for my husband being military.

Then they wanted us to schedule another appointment so they could give us an estimate to do the project. HERE IS THE BOTTOM LINE: INSTEAD OF BEING PROFESSIONAL AND REASONABLE BY KEEPING THEIR COSTUMERS INFORMED, THIS COMPANY WILL FIDDLE AROUND IN YOUR HOUSE FOR HOURS, DO NOTHING AND THEN WANT YOU TO PAY. DON'T WAIST YOUR MONEY!

Responded reasonably quickly to a request for an estimate, and the estimator arrived as scheduled and was polite and professional. The rub is that he never responded with the promised estimate. D&G were recommended by a colleague and I don't doubt they can do professional-grade electrical work but this delayed my project and didn't endear me to the company. (I should be grateful because I was then able to go with SmartWire 360, who did respond in a timely way with a very reasonable estimate. SmartWire completed the work very professionally and were a pleasure to work with. and they'll be doing more work going forward.) I regret that I must leave this lackluster review for Davis & Green.

Understanding that "things happen" and nobody's perfect, I feel it's worth mentioning for anyone that might consider D&G. I don't doubt they can do the work. just make sure you insist on a timeline and be prepared to call back if time seems to be slipping into the future with no response.

Really happy with the service! We had a crazy problem with the electrical in our house. My husband is pretty knowledgeable and we were just stumped. Scott came out and got it figured out ASAP. Really experienced and professional. Will definitely use them again.

I recently had D&G do some work on my rental home that another contractor was not able to handle. Not only did they do the work quickly, they worked with the Dominion Energy Electrical company and coordinated all the work to have power shut down and shut back up. Everyone I spoke with was very professional. The best part - they gave a great bid and stuck to it. - I highly recommend this company. JS Henrico Va

Davis and Green installed a whole house generator for me 1.6 years go. They were responsive, and gave me a fair price. I was initially very pleased. Since then, my generator has "walked/vibrated". One corner of the generator was off the concrete pad. I called and was told that since it had been 1.6 years, they would charge me a 99 dollar service charge.

I didn't like that as I felt the installation must have been faulty, but agreed to it as I needed it fixed. The technician came, spent a very short time. He leveled the pad, and moved the generator square on the pad. Imagine my surprise when the invoice came for 196 dollars. No tools, no materials, no mechanical expertise was used. Initial installation experience was good, but "after the sale" experience was disappointing. UPDATE: My invoice was reviewed and corrected to original quote. I'm satisfied with that.

The electrician arrived on time and knew exactly what I needed to be done to the generator to hook up more circuits. He was very knowledgeable and thorough, walked me through the changes at the end just to double check that everything was in working order. We have been extremely satisified when dealing with this company for both times they have worked on our generator. Will definitely use them any time we have electrical needs.
