Don installed my a/c a couple of years ago and it's been great. Work was done in short order and the guys were easy to work with and neat as a pin. Yesterday I had a problem with water leakage which, as it turns out, was my fault because I didn't keep the receptacle clear. Nevertheless, Don came out on his own time on Saturday morning to "fix" it for me. He is a very caring and responsible person and I would recommend him to anyone!

Of course our air conditioner worked great until the crazy heat started, at which time--you guessed it!--it quit working. It was very old, but we were hoping to get one more summer out of it. Don and his crew very quickly replaced the unit which was on our roof, requiring a crane--we're not sure how they coordinated everything so quickly but we are grateful.

They also fine-tuned some of the settings and installed a pump for our evaporator coil, which had been leaking. It now works great, and we have no worries about water harming our wood floor. As a bonus: Don and his crew were very nice people. We would highly recommend West Hills Electric and HVAC.

Absolutely pleasant experience from initial quote to final inspection of the job. Don and team were all very professional and were able to answer my questions gave us a very fair price for the work that was involved. Don explained many options for getting a unit installed that met our specifications and the result has been magnificent so far. Given that COVID was prevalent during this installation time, all workers wore masks and kept their distance when working in our home. Everyday, they left all their tools and materials in an organized and neat manner, and were all done in 3.5 days. Definitely would recommend 10/10

I just had four mini-split units installed in my house in preparation for the coming summer. Don and his crew were great. The work started on time and finished a bit early. His crew is polite, friendly and very hard-working. As in every house, my house has some tricky places that made it difficult to do a straightforward install. Don was very creative and laid back about dealing with issues like this. I'm very happy with the outcome. It's almost too bad that I don't need the A/C right now.

These guys are awesome! I needed to have an EV car charger installed on a relatively short time horizon, and these guys delivered! The two installation techs showed up exactly on time (literally down to the second), were very professional, and did a great job installing the charger. Don, the manager, even showed up toward the end to inspect the work and confirm that I was satisfied with everything.

As if it could get any better, the insulation was roughly 50% of the price other electricians had quoted me. I'm super happy with these guys, and highly recommend them to anyone!

Had a great experience working with Don. He was responsive giving us an estimate which is more than can be said for many contractors. Don was also available to clarify questions about the estimate before we started. Beyond that the work was also finished on time and his entire team was pleasant through the whole process. Would definitely work with them again.

Had Don and his working partner Chris put in a new Goodman forced air heating unit. The old unit was noisy and the upstairs of the house was always HOT instead of WARM. All I can tell you is that they worked their behinds off, they were on time, they worked efficiently, they cleaned up every day. The job turned out to be much more difficult than I think they knew it would be and what should have been a two day job turned into a 4 day job. Chris, especially, had to work in very very tight spaces and stayed enthusiastic the whole time.

The job came out great. The house is quiet and the heat is now evenly distributed between up and down stairs. Gas and electric bills are lower. Despite spending much more time and effort than they expected they stuck to their estimate and didn't bump it up. The only negative reviews I see here are from pissey people who whine that they couldn't reach West Hills by phone.

Their impatience was their loss because they would have been happy with the final outcome. The shops that answered them right away and responded immediately? Probably a reason, . like no customers and they cost too much! Call West Hills, you'll be happy.

Don Alfano and his crew Chris and Steve installed in my home central air and heat a couple a weeks ago and I couldn't be happier with the job, the equipment and most of all with the respect and kindness of these men, finding this company was great, starting with the estimate thru to the end of the job. I have already recommended the company and passed out Don's card. I will always call them for any electrical needs that I have in the future. I wish I could give them10 stars. Sue Logan

I highly recommend Don and west hills electric. They are honest and very good at communicating the scope of the job and time it will take. I had an unusual request to move a compressor and furnace from a house in west la to my house in Gardena and install it. He redid everything so that I got a new closet because he moved the furnace to the attic. I called many hvac companies and don was the only person who suggested this solution.

I've called West Hills 3 times over the past few years and have always had good prompt service. Yesterday I lost partial power to my kitchen and they came out today. In about 15 minutes, Chris figured out the problem was with Edison and there was no charge for the call. I figure a good review is the least I could do to reward good service!

Tempted to give one star, but I'll control myself and give two. I called West Hills five hours ago today during normal working hours and left two phone numbers, slowly and clearly repeating both numbers twice and my name twice, and no one bothered to call me back. If this is how this company treats customers during the courting phase, I'd hate to see how they treat them once you're on the hook for a service call and fee. Meh. I've moved on.

I called another establishment that answered its phone promptly, clearly explained their service call and repair rates, and set up an appointment. Pretty straightforward and much appreciated. I'll review that company once the work is done.

I had Don's crew of Chris and Dean back today to install a NEMA 14-30 plug in my laundry room and move the current outlet over to accommodate my new stacking washer and dryer. They arrived early and jumped into action. Once again, this 1947 house presented access challenges for them inside the walls but they prevailed! They installed the new plug and moved the old one and even wrestled my old appliances out the back door.

They are the consummate professionals. They are neat, organized and efficient - and all with a smile - even when Chris had to crawl underneath the length of my house in the dirt on this muggy day! They showed me the new wiring layout in the electrical box for when the new appliances arrive. I would give them 10 YELP stars if I could. They are electrical wizards!

I'm so glad I stumbled across this business on here! Don and his guys were great! I called Don inquiring about updating our panel and installing enforced air and heating, we set up an appt for him to come by and give us an estimate. He came by on a Wednesday, he was nice and honest. wrote up the estimate there and we sealed the deal. Not sure if they were the cheapest but they definitely weren't the most expensive.

They started right away that following Monday and worked full force. They estimated it would take 6 days but they were done in 4. They were all professional and they never left a mess. I will definitely be calling Don whenever we need work on our electrical or HVAC.

Don and his team are absolutely worth every penny. I can go on and on about these guys, but I'll keep it short and simple. I got a panel upgrade and a HVAC system put in along with all new GFI receptacles etc. work was outstanding. they showed up on time everyday. cleaned up after themselves. fast and efficient. professional at all times. very knowledgeable. worth every penny! I had Don and his helper Chris came to service my 30+ year old split system and I was very happy with the service provided. I left Don a message yesterday, he returned the call immediately, provided me with an appointment the next day and was perfectly on time. Don seems very knowledgeable and what I also really appreciated is that he did not try to convince me to replace the unit, that despite its age is running well.

He was thorough, explained things to me and they cleaned perfectly up afterwards. Great experience overall! i will continue using them in the future for my HVAC needs and I will also call him when I need electrical work done.

This is my first ever Yelp review, but I feel that West Hills warranted one. My parents passed, and I'm trying to ready their house for sale. I want to do this as cheaply as possible. I was having problems with the electric, so I decided to get a panel upgrade to bring it up to Code. I called several different electricians and set appointments.

Although Don wasn't able to make our initial appointment -- which I completely understand -- he called, rescheduled, and arrived right on time. Don was the least expensive of the three estimates I received. $700 less than one; $1000 less than the other. Since the parts will be the same for each electrician, I decided to go with West Hills. We set our start date. Don was right on time, ready to work.

The panel change was a two-day project. On the first day, Don suggested that he open the walls from the drywall side rather than the stucco side as much as possible as it would save me money when I had the walls redone. Thanks for that! After the first day's work, Don cleaned up beautifully. The patio was actually cleaner than when he started.

Second day, Don was on time, again. He finished the panel. We only had to go without power for about half an hour and everything was up and running perfectly. SCE wanted an outdoor wall plug removed, and Don did that for me free of charge. He left the patio area spotless. All he had left to do was put on a cap after SCE had come and done what they needed to do.

When I let him know SCE had been, he was here within the hour to finish off the job. I was extremely happy with Don and West Hills Electric. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. He saved me money where he could. I would absolutely use him again and recommend him to anyone in need of an electrician. You won't go wrong if you choose West Hills.

I was referred to Don when I saw the mini splits they installed at my buddy's house. Don came out, quoted the job with 3 mini splits and finished the job on my house in blazing heat, on budget & AHEAD of schedule. Promised me job completion on saturday, and i was making snow balls & freezing my ass by Friday night. Can't be happier, these guys are the best.

Excellent service. Was looking for a local electrician to install an EV 240v Charger. Highly review from yelper got my attention. Long story short, Don, came in right on time, and knows exactly what has to be done from the electrical panel to installation location. Wire tubing runs flawless and they clean up the mess. His quote was really reasonable. Highly recommend for those who needs a Professional electrician, heating, A/C.

Wow! Had a EV Charging Station line & circuit breaker put in. Within 2 days got the lowest quote and had the line installed by Don (the owner)! We asked WEST Hills electrical for an estimate to upgrade our house which was originally built in 1950's. The house required a circuit panel upgrade/ relocation, changing a large number of lamps and upgrading the wiring and putting them on dimmer switches, installing recessed lighting, adding several outlets, updating many old outlets to GFI, and a number of other items.

We had bid it out to a number of electricians but were most pleased with the way Don, the owner of West Hills Electrical handled and explained the estimate. From there we were very glad at how carefully he handled all the details from planning, changes, dealing with the city, interacting with the main contractor, and all the communication which was sometimes 1-2x/ day.

He was available, thorough, trustworthy and professional. He and his crew worked very efficiently and accomplished a lot of detailed work in a timely fashion with quality results including meticulously cleaning up after each workday. Whenever he said he was going to do or say something or be somewhere he followed through thoughtfully and like clockwork.

He is not only true to his word but he is extremely knowledgeable and competent about all aspects of electricity. He was really experienced and helpful with all the permit details and patiently dealt with all the time-consuming requirements with scheduling and rescheduling with the inspector. Since then Don and his crew have worked on our other property as well, even though it was pretty far for him.

His pricing is very fair and he even transferred the savings to us whenever he is able to get materials, such as recessed lights, at bulk cost. All in all we are VERY glad that we found West Hills electrical and would recommend him highly.

Couldn't ask for a better experience with a contractor. Don (owner) and Chris upgraded our electric panel, converted numerous ungrounded outlets to GFCI, added new outlets with dedicated circuits for space heaters. We solicited quotes from several electricians. West Hills' prices were among the best, the owner seemed like a straight shooter, their license-bonding-insurance all checked out fine, and their Yelp reviews were great so we went with them.

Before the job started Don explained everything that was going to happen very clearly - the scope of the work, how long it would take (best and worst case scenarios), what additional costs might potentially come up, etc. He was flexible in presenting different upgrade options, mindful of our budget limitations. It was a three day process, they worked their butts off the entire time, and everything went smooth, exactly as described beforehand - no nasty surprises, no creeping inflation of project costs.

They did what they said they would, in the timeframe they said they would do it, for the cost that they quoted (slightly less in fact because they discovered that fewer outlets needed converting than they had originally estimated). They left our home very clean and the workmanship was outstanding. They were very respectful and careful while working inside the home. Really can't ask for more than that. Our highest recommendation without reservation.

These guys are fantastic! We recently hired Don to install and run power/wall switches for 2 ceiling fans, one on a 20 ft angled ceiling and one in a master bedroom, 12 ft ceiling. Neither location had access from above. He told us we might have some holes in the ceiling afterward from running wires, which would require a painter to fill, plaster, paint, etc.

We weren't thrilled about it, but that's part of the deal. Somehow, they (Don and Jay) were able to do the job without making any holes at all! It was unbelievable really. Don really cares about the customer and wants you to be happy with his work, and judging by what I saw this week, that won't be a problem. They also took great care not to get any dirt, debris, etc. on our furniture and floors - covered everything they thought might get dirty. Also, they replaced 5 CFL's in our kitchen with LED fixtures and lights.

Great work. I would hire these guys again in a heartbeat. If you're looking for an electrician, it means you've either used one before and wouldn't hire them again, or you're trying to find a reliable one. Well, hire Don and you won't have to look any further.
