I accidentally shut off my power and it was after hours (8pm) so I called Chico Electric to help me out. The guy that responded didn't even need to come by and guided me through restoring power myself. Wasn't charged a dime. Thanks again! Service: Electrical panel repair

Critical: Professionalism Worked along side them for a huller project, they constantly complained about everything and had a snoby attitude.

Talk about a company that nickel and dimes you! Each visit will be no less than $100. We had several electrical outlets and switches replaced and they charged $100 each for them. One switch went out and they charged us an additional $175 to come out and replace. The fact that I've given them almost $4,000 of business I guess that means nothing. I was going to swap out our light fixtures and install can lighting with them (which I could not get an exact quote for) but after all this I will look elsewhere.

We needed two lights at an apartment building. They gave estimate $1200 which is ridiculous. There is a lot of demand for electrician services and Chico Electric is taking full advantage. They are booked way ahead with bigger jobs like all the bigger companies. They really don't want to do smaller jobs, so they jack up the prices and see if anyone bites.

I had part of my kitchen go out and they sent out an electrician who solved the problem quickly and then helped me out with two other issues. My fridGe lost power a couple weeks later during the weekend and when I called they were helpful in suggesting A quick fix to get me to Monday so I wouldn't have to pay the high emergency hours. I really appreciated that they weren't just trying to make the higher wages and instead offered free advice. Efficient, helpful and trustworthy. They have earned my trust and are now my official go to if I have issues in the future.

Setting up an appointment was fast and easy. Technician Peter arrived on time, assessed the problems in an efficient and professional manner, and completed the repairs in a timely fashion. The whole experience could not have been better and the charge for the work was very reasonable. We will be using this company again! Chico Electric has done a fantastic job on my Susie Lane properties. We would highly recommend them. They arrived on time, were professional and respectful.

They deserve zero stars. This company is so unprofessional! They put a solar panel on the neighbors parcel and didn't realize that it was partly across the property line Hard to believe, but after realizing their mistake they came out to move it back had no respect for the property destroyed. Just ran continuously across the property and destroyed the crop.

I called them out two times about compensation for us, and the second time I called them, they apologized that they had not called me back. They then acted like they had forgot. Maybe this is a regular occurrence for them? How do you forget a call that you did work on the wrong property? Then he said that they are a corporation and they just don't do compensation basically that tells me they don't do service after the job.

Word of advice, stay away from this company. They look to be your typical, do the job, take the money, no service for making things right. I wouldn't count on them for any service on products they install. I, Chico Electric, and the neighboring land owner will most likely end up in court in court over this.

Home experience. I had PGE come out twice to fix my electrical problem in my home. PGE did not fix it after replacing the wires from the power pole to my home. I called Chico Electric, thinking don't call them because they are always overpriced, and the great technician knew how to fix the problem within 5 mins. Cost under $150. Thank you Chico Electric.

Had an issue with a loose plug somewhere in the house causing no power in living room, dining room, kitchen & outdoors. Matt with Chico Electric showed up on time and went through plugs in the house to find loose wires. He was professional and tenacious in tracking down loose wires. I highly recommend this business--they got out to our home in one day when others had told us it would be a month before they could come out. Thank you Chico Electric!

I had Chico Electric place a new electrical meter panel for my solar panels. Ben's communication was excellent and Greg did a great job with the electrical. I would highly recommend them and will use them again.

We just had our house wired so we can run off generator when electricity is out. Our technician Greg was great. He was on time professional, courteous, and did a great job. He took time to explain everything he did and how to work the new electrical panel. I am very happy with their work and Would strongly recommend them to anyone looking for an electrician

After the Camp Fire, Chico Electric put my house on a Generac generator. It is a seamless operation now when the power goes out. Brant did a great job, following the operation through several power outages. Chico Electric has been with us through the build, installation of the solar system and through the Fire. They are considerate, on budget and timely. Highly recommended!

Had a couple of chandeliers that I needed to be wired, and hung. The electrican they sent- "Jeff" was quick, professional, and was also able to trouble- shoot a manufacturing defect in the product with ease. I'll definitely be using the company in the future for all my electrical needs.

I requested them to replace two wall outlets inside and one dedicated outlet outside the house and replace a small bathroom fan. PRO The service man was courteous A complaint about the bill was given some credit CON No shoe covers when he came into the house Put outside pug in upside down and had to totally redo but I got charged for the time, Quote price for fan under $100, I was bill at almost double that price Billing did not have itemization for parts In summary, a job that should have cost me about $250 was billed at over $500 and the bill was reduced by $100 only after I questioned it.

I think that the billing is slip shod and they just see what you are willing to pay. ADVISE. Shop around. Demand an quote before you let them in the house. Oh, and please put on shoe covers.

Where to begin-- They completed the job. but certainly not in the timely manner. I would expect a month or maybe even two (as I was advised by them for the duration of time) but I feel like 5 months is a bit ridiculous - yes it took 5 months. The jobs were completed, as per the initial quote. but only with an extra reminder (and proof of conversation stating initial jobs would be completed) AFTER I was told my job was complete.

There was communication. but mainly when I initiated a conversation first -you know, to follow up after a month had passed - and not hardly at all between the person communicating and the person doing the work - these are two separate people. Post consult, my 4 following visits to complete the job, 2 times the installers showed up over an hour+ later than I was told and once a FULL hour earlier (thankfully the installers were pleasant and apologetic for the inconveniences) - the 4th was on time because I was in direct contact with the installer to schedule.

Oh yes, when the inspector came to look things over so they could move forward on the job (this would be a 5th visit), I was not given the date by Chico Electric, as I was told I would. That was just a lovely surprise when the inspector showed up (good thing I just happened to be home to open the gate). Bottom line, yes, the job got done. Just not in the time frame as promised. I've had other projects on hold, that could not be completed until this was done.

For 5 months! The frustration dealing with this company assures that I will never hire them again. Good luck to you if you decide to. I suggest you keep all written communication until your job is complete and harness all your inner patience. you will need it!

Chico Electric's, Norm, is a wonderful business owner and supportive of his community. My friends love their solar panels. I am excited to use Chico Electric for some electrical work in my home, I have a huge need for updated fans in three rooms and one needs repair asap with this heat wave. Thank you, Chico Electric! Shame on Chico Electric. You advertise and appear community friendly. You do solar panels, according to all the pictures. That's a main way that we can save our precious earth and vastly improve sustainability. Yet Chico Electric is proving itself partisan to an effort to overturn democracy for Chico. Its hosting a signing to recall our Mayor and Councilman who have put vast efforts into improving community safety, progressing our sustainability efforts.

They want our Conservative Council back and haven't even given this one a chance. The Conservatives, like Chico Electric's Management, deny climate change even exists. That's clearly their stance. They don't care about us, Chico and our Paradise community. They care about big-money only.

I called several electricians on graduation weekend to come out and repair some dead outlets at my rental house in Chico. Chico Electric was the ONLY one who ever even called back. Greg came out 2 days later and made the repairs quickly. Highly recommended.

I think Chico Electric is an amazing business with outstanding individuals working here. They have really great deals for solar and Chico Electric always does an amazing job. They stand behind their work and I really respect that. Keep your money local and call Chico Electric next time you need an electrician or if your thinking about going solar.

Chico Electric is hosting an event soon as part of a recall effort against two City Council members. I would not recommend any business that would be so brazenly partisan and would be so willing to divide the community. It's sad, as I had a good opinion of the company before this. I have solar panels from a competitor on my home, and have thought about adding a battery, but I will exclude Chico Electric from my search when I'm ready for that, as I cannot abide such a reckless decision.

A company willing to promote a smear campaign against Mayor Stone and Councilman Ory, two well-liked and highly esteemed gentlemen within the community, clearly cares very little for the city or its people.

Great company, had them put in power to our hot tub and fix some switches that had lost power. They gave us a very Competative bid. Greg came out to do the work, he was on time, efficient and very thorough. Now everything works perfectly. Thanks Chico Electric

Greg was friendly, reliable, and knowledgeable. We contacted Chico Electric about an incorrectly wired stove plug and they were able to come out within 2 days of our call. Greg was able to ensure the wiring was up to code and swapped out the incorrect plug for the correct one.

Chico Electric did a fantastic job putting in a 100 amp electrical panel in in my old 1950s bungalow in Chico, swapping out an unsafe fuse box for quality equipment. They interfaced with P G & E for the disconnect, reconnect, easing my mind about safety concerns. Their professional crew expertly re-wired old plugs and upgraded the outlets to service a modern home. Skip, Greg, Matt, and especially Jeff were easy to work with, offered valuable suggestions based on their extensive knowledge and did a great job installing recessed lighting in two rooms. Chico Electric is the Best!

Chico Electric really saved us! We apparently had some melting internal wires (all we knew is we had a bit of a weird smell and a couple outlets that seemed to be not working). When we called for an appointment they were able to come out within a couple of days. We figured a couple outlets just needed replacement. The electrician realized this was a big job and we were able to get a follow up scheduled, again, within a few days. They were so friendly and truly cared, working well with our busy schedule. And - our house is alive and well!

I have used Chico Electric services for the last 10 years, installing a backup generator subpanel, checking my solar panels, general electrical work including simple things like troubleshooting faulty plugs, replacing night lights on a building 25 feet off the ground, and rewiring my yard lights among many different jobs. They have always been able to successfully complete any job I requested in a timely manner. I have been relying on them for all my electrical work.

Next day service! On time, professional, really nice guy. Explained what he was doing so we understood what was wrong and how he was fixing it. Always nice when professionals take the time to explain their work. Fixed the problem, did some measurements for a follow-up quote and was on his way in no time. Very reasonable prices as well.
