Acquired 3 proposals for installation of solar. Big D provided the most competitive proposal. The agreement was signed and the following week a date was set for installation. Install was completed in one day. The system passed inspection two days after. Another two days, the net meter was installed and the system was turned on. Big D handled all of the paperwork and provided all of the warranty information. The system performance has been at or above the initial Big D estimate.

I wanted to share this so other elderly or other customers are not mislead by this company. Customers should be aware of several issues that this company said that they did and got paid for work not done. My mother who lived in Cumberland for 85 years was almost swindled by this company in 2018 prior to her death in July 2020. That is why this post was not submitted til now cause we just found out in August 2020 about this incident.
A gentleman, Tony Greene, V.P who no longer works there came to my mothers residence in August of 2018 and told her her house was very close to burning down because she had faulty wiring /electrical that would catch on fire if she did not replace it immediately. Of course hearing this my mother was scared and signed a contract to do work on her electrical wires outside her home and electrical box.
She had $55.48 being removed from bank account and paid to First energy for 36 months until the amount of $1997.00 was paid for. After being aware of this I had my mom cancel the contract because we got a second opinion by a local very reputable electric company and they said that it was not requiring immediate repair and could be done at a lesser charge in the future.
Money was being deducted from my mom's account and Big -D electric never came out and did the work, they got paid by First Energy for the job that they never did. This was discovered because when my mom passed in July I stopped auto pay and first energy called me how the remaining balance would be paid. I told them that the contract was canceled and that my mom never had her electrical wiring updated.
They were appalled that this happened and investigated that it was true that Bid- D electric never did they work. I also spoke with the owner Betsy and she brushed off this incident. She was willing to come and up grade it now but didn't get that we never wanted to have her company so this service in the first place and why would we ever consider having her company do the work now when we really don't trust them.
I asked her about her companies process of quality control because it appears that no one signed off that they work was done. Who checks that at her company? No appointment was placed in your system to do the work. Who is responsible for following through with the work. All I got from the discussion was not owning up that the management has issues.
Yes they did agree that they did not do the work but didn't seem sincere about being at fault for the process. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS COMPANY AND GET A SECOND OPINION PRIOR TO SIGNING TO HAVE THEM DO ANY WORK. Didn't want to give them any "stars" but I couldn't send the post until I checked one off.

Very open communication, great pricing, prompt, and kind. They called to remind of appointment the day before and kept a very open line of communication throughout the entire process. Their quote also came back far lower than another that we checked with, but quality of service-from beginning to end-was still top-notch. Took our credit card payments (many around here only do cash or check), sent us an estimate and met it exactly, and arrived on time to all appointments. Exceptionally kind and courteous staff/workers.

Potomac Eddison came out to my house today to replace my meter because it was filling with water. When they removed the meter they noticed that the meter along with the wires were burnt and melted. I called Big D Electric and within 30 mins they were out to inspect it, an hour later they were back out to fix it and by 3 pm they were done. My electric was shut off at 11am and they had everything done by 3pm and called the electric company to come back by to hook everything up. The guys that came out did an amazing job! Thank you Big D Electric and in the future if I have any electrical need you will be the first I call!
