Services
Parke County REMC is a nonprofit and member-owned electric cooperative. Incorporated in 1937 by a group of rural citizens, it exists today to distribute quality service and electricity to the members in portions of six counties: Parke, Putnam, Clay, Vigo, Montgomery and Fountain. Parke County Rural Electric Membership Corporation (REMC), is located on the south side of the square in Rockville, Indiana.
Use our interactive phone service to pay your bill by credit or debit card or electronic check 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. To pay by credit or debit card, you must have your REMC account number and credit or debit card information. To pay by electronic check, we must first set up a profile that contains your checking information, you will also need your REMC account number.
Prepaid members do not have to pay a deposit to start a new electric account. This is a pay-as-you-go plan, so there are no monthly bills. If you are an existing member and wish to convert to a prepaid account, any deposit previously paid will be applied to any outstanding balance and the purchase of future energy use.
Listed below is an explanation of how different billing options are calculated, when bills are processed and the fees associated with different billing programs. This Billing Info includes details of residential, seasonal or general service which is billed on a monthly basis. To better understand the electric bill charges, we have included below a breakdown of electricity usage, consumer charge, power cost adjustment, and state tax. The power cost adjustment, which is established on a quarterly basis, is dependent upon Wabash Valley Power Association.

Told at 2pm there were less than 5 hundred people still without power, to we are so many they can't be sure. We tried calling a good dozen times to let them know we were without power from roughly 2am 11th of December until now it's a full 28 hours later December 12th! There was never anyone to answer until roughly 4-5pm on Saturday the 11th, about 18 hours later and the the person or guy that answer was shocked or seemed shock because at that point they were caught up and we were never in the list to now we have 3 or 4 counties out still.
The was one company truck that came through early hours on the 11th when this all went down, they didn't do anything, and from what I'm told, that we were all good? Not sure how that is when the whole western half of my lake community has not had power while literally everyone outside us, including eastern side of my community has power and has had power since at least 2pm. Supposedly someone would reach out to ke they even took my number.
Guess what? Not true, roughly 12 hours later after that and only actual human reaction to this electric company, no call and now my phone is about to run out of battery, less than 10% power left!. It's a lonely world when you have no power, no battery and all you do is sit here in the dark foe hours on end with nothing but a dark stair to nothing. Nearly 24 hours later and I'm bow finally out of patience. Last candle!

When power goes out in extreme weather, Parke County REMC restores quickly.even when severe weather is still going on! I have had several electric companies through the years and can tell you I have never had an electric company restore service so quickly. Thank you so much to the ones out there in this weather restoring our power!

If you are going to use Parke County REMC, buy a generator.a big one.because you will need it.a lot. This year alone (as of June 2019) we have lost power a minimum of 12 times. I'm not counting the ones where I come home from work and my clocks are flashing. I'm just counting the ones where we went out for HOURS when we were home. The last outage I asked the rep if we got some kind of "credit" for the constant power outages. His reply was "well Mr Harman, we don't charge you for service when the power is out" Damn decent of you.damn decent.

Obviously need to upgrade their computer systems, This is my 3rd year in my home and every winter we have meter reading issues, So they came and replaced my meter 2 days ago and my daily usage text said I used 0 kWh. Imagine that with a brand new meter, So tomorrow they will hit me with a 152 kWh usage and say well the meter wasn't sending a accurate reading. Sick of the inconsistent charges as a home owner I know my average use

I have lived in country in Greencastle In for 2 years. We have had multiple power outages. Memorial weekend we had 2 outages and today 6-10-18 we are 4 hours into another power outage with this humid weather. I understand things happen, but this is ridiculous. Tree limbs are never cut which doesn't help. Do Not Recommend this power company!
