As my job evolved and I was able to put myself into my work, I learned what I was best at-being an employee advocate. I like serving other people. Since joining OREMC nearly 30 years ago, Pam has had the opportunity to work with just about every employee. She started out as a personnel assistant filing insurance claims. Then she moved on to payroll, assisted employees with savings withdrawals, car loans, insurance questions/claims/bills and ran interference regarding long term, short term and workers' compensation claims.
Services
For more than 80 years, the principle of "concern for the community" has been at the heart of everything we do. Okefenoke Rural Electric Membership Corporation (OREMC) is an electric cooperative powering the lives of nearly 38,000 residential consumer-members, commercial and industrial accounts in southeast Georgia and northeast Florida.
At the speed of life today, it is hard to imagine that less than 100 years ago much of Southeast Georgia and Northeast Florida was in the dark. While lights burned bright in major cities, rural residents were told it was too expensive and not profitable to provide them electricity. That is until five determined, forward-thinking and persuasive individuals incorporated Okefenoke REMC in 1939.

Worst company I have ever dealt with. They are notorious for shutting your lights off when they shouldn't be off! Fixing the problem temporarily only to turn around and screw you over the next bill. They will then credit the account and bill you for the monthly bill plus the amount they are crediting you for. This company is a joke! If you speak with them make sure you do as myself and husband do and Record everything! But when you call corporate even though everything is in the notes they're gonna tell you they're not gonna honor it!

These people cannot keep the electricity working. It is always having power surges and going out. It has damaged several dish boxes, laptop, printer, wifi routers and I'm sure that's what caused our freezer to go out last week losing everything. Come on enough is enough. Hope everything works if it ever comes back on.
