It's hard to imagine what life today would be like without electricity. If electric co-ops had not electrified towns across rural America years ago, many of our local economies simply wouldn't exist. Electric cooperatives create jobs, fuel growth and power communities all across America. Butler Rural Electric Cooperative was built by the communities we serve.

We have lived in our home for 5 years and our power has went our twice the whole time we have lived here. Power goes out all the time across the street for the homeowners who have duke. As for the electricity rates. Everything is high, I have compared bills with family members and friends and Duke energy charges more per KW. I have had billing issues with them before about lack of communication but in the past year with covid they have been awesome!

Electric service needs a lot of updating, repairs, new management! Today 1/1/2022 at least 4 to6 brownouts! We have Duke right up the street on some houses and they don't have this problem I wish I could shift or transfer to them. And this is NOT a today problem; We average at least one brownout/or loss of service every week. Something needs to be done. We pay top dollars for poor service. Tom

So so High rates. Are you kidding me? I usually pay 1200 kwh Under $200. But this company pay over $260. And on winter the electric go double and sometimes triple. I live in Mosiman rd. I wish my area have Duke energy. Duke energy have awesome customer service and they have great budget plan and free 15 of LED light bulbs each year and free program insulation value $150 packages and lower rate. so much so much benefit for clients. They understand and they get profits but they reasonable rate. If Duke energy in this area and I switch right away.

My power company is better than yours! Electric companies are not often liked by their customers. But I love Butler Rural. They are extremely customer-oriented. They work hard to restore service any time we have an outage. After Hurricane Ike, we were the first people of everyone I knew to get our power restored.

Worst company ever! I live on Mosiman Rd and any little storm knocks the poles out, they come out several hours later to "fix" the problem and worse than that. it's never fixed. All the other homes on streets surrounding Mosiman are never out, just Mosiman, just butler rural residents. The real kick in the head is you can not change to Duke due to some previous contract township had agreed to. I can only hope they will eventually sell out to Duke soon. Not to mention their prices are ridiculous.

I've been a customer for almost 24 years and ran onto a financial hardship. NEVER missed a bill until I had surgery and was laid off. We only had a passed due amount of 92.00 and they would NOT offer a payment assistance. Said they would shut off our electric in the winter, WITH kids and my medical issues. With being a loyal customer since 1992 and never missing a payment.
You would think there would have been alot more courtesy and empathy, vs. a shut off in the middle of winter However, Duke Energy allows for a payment arrangements and balances greater than 92.00 before a disconnect in winter with children. We were only ONE month behind. They charge for so many cooperative charges, vs. actual energy-electric usage. For example. Out of said 92.00 balance. Only 44.00 were in Electric usage. The balance is co-op charges.
