Corbin Electrical Services

I used Home Depot to have the generator system installed. They used Corbin Electric as their contractor for the installation of a whole house 18KW Generac generator. They employ their own people (plumbers and electricians, no subcontracting) to do all the work. The installation was seamless! They came to my home on 3 separate occasions and all their employees were outstanding! I would definitely use them again and recommend them to all my friends.

Very responsive to my urgent need for electrical wiring repair. Prompt, professional and fair cost. I definitely recommend them!

Corbin Electric did a great job today installing 3 ceiling fans and one lighting fixture. They were prompt and left my home as clean as they found it. After we discussed where I wanted the lighting room ceiling fan installation, they made a suggested on a new location which I loved and agreed to. I appreciate the professionalism the guys displayed and would highly recommend using them.

And the price was more than reasonable. Only area for improvement is the responsiveness from the office when I followed-up on my proposal and scheduling the work. It look me 3 attempts to get someone to respond to me.

Suggestion, get everything in writing! We contracted for a generator in November, were told it could be 9 months as Generac was backordered. Our neighbor contracted with a different vendor but was told same thing. Low and behold, 3 months later they are installed and Corbin now says, oh we have too many jobs and too few people and not getting inventory we need. If they had been truthful up front, different decision. Now too late, already paid depost, and paid for site plan approval and permits. Should have gone elsewhere!

Excellent service, customer service, and quality of work. I used them to install my stand-by generator 9 years ago, and subsequently called them to do the electrical work for our pool. I've had an annual maintenance plan with them since 2013. Well worth it, and I know I can always rely on them if I need emergency repair done.

I just had Corbin Electric install a generator for my whole home. I highly recommend this company. They were very easy to work with and did a beautiful job. Office staff are terrific as well.

Contracted with Corbin to install a whole house generator. The installation, especially the gas line work, was sloppy. Frankly, a handyman would have done a cleaner install. Failed inspection twice because of a leak. What a mess. Took them so long to get it done that I now have a trench across the lawn all winter because the dirt is frozen. Do yourself a favor. Choose someone else to do your generator.

I just had my first semi-annual Generac generator maintenance service. The technician was very professional & courteous. And, he explained the what he completed and status of the generator. While I am a new customer since Corbin installed my generator last June, I am a satisfied customer.

This was our first maintenance of our new generator. Joe came right on time. As he worked he explained to me what he was doing. Even though it only ran 2.5 hours (5 minutes a week) he replace the oil, oil filter, air filter and spark plugs. He also updated the computer system. He turned off power from the street to test it. I plan to do some of the maintenance myself and he told me the type of oil needed and how to check the level.

He gave me the box from the air filter so I would know what I needed. For other maintenance I do plan to use Corbin every few year for things I can't do or not comfortable doing. He also advised me if I see ants near the generator to place ant traps around it since the ants like to do damage to the electronics.

Nathan Bernhard was the technician who did the first service on my standby generator which Corbin Electric installed in May 2021. He was most pleasant, courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. He was thorough and efficient in his checking of the generator, answered my questions, and did a live check of the system to guarantee that the generator was in optimum condition. His follow-up email was a very nice touch.

I purchased a generator from Corbin in November 2020. It is now December 2021 and the job is yet to be completed. It failed inspection FOUR times. They have my over 4K deposit since November. Twice I was told someone from management would contact me and no one ever did. This is the worst experience with a company in this area ever. They told me it's common to have four failures but when speaking with the town inspector he chuckled and said of course it isn't common. If there were zero stars that's what I would give them And look at the patch up job!

We only have had positive experiences with Corbin Electric. When they installed our Generac generator last spring, the technicians were professional, experienced, and articulate. A free maintenance service was provided after 6 months. Again, the technician was thorough in his checking of our generator which involved a general cleaning, changing the air filter, changing the oil, checking all the motor parts including the power level of the battery and finally and a live check of the system.

We reached out to Corbin Electric for a Generac backup generator. Our neighbor had used them a year prior and had very positive feedback. The gentleman who came out to educate us about the generator, services available, financing options and assess the best location for the unit, was very knowledgeable and informative. Corbin made all arrangements for the permit with our township and remained in communication through the entire process.

The technicians who came out came on time, kept us informed of what was going on during the installation and upon completion. They were highly professional and respective of the restrictions during the current pandemic. I would highly recommend Corbin for generator installation or any electrical needs you may have.

Corbin has been servicing our generator since installation shortly after Sandy. The technicians come regularly, on time and perform the work quickly and efficiently. The generator continues to work well and is ready for the next inevitable outage.just a question of when. Mark was the technician who came and was pleasant and knowledgeable. We have been and continue to be satisfied with the work, service and responsiveness of Corbin.

I needed someone to look at my generator. Nice guy showed up quickly. Looked at it and said that the cradle the engine is on rusted away and I would need an entirely new generator. He told me someone would call, with an estimate - a month has gone by and no one has called. As he was leaving he started throwing up obstacles- it would take 8 months to get a new generator; that current code might restrict where my generator currently is located, etc. Needless to say, I'm trying to get another opinion and go with an organization that might be more responsive.

I am giving 2 stars because of the lack of customer service and communication. When they did come out to perform electrical work over the past year or so (pool pump power/gfi install, exterior gfi outlet, interior bathroom sconces/fan) the technicians were friendly, professional, efficient, and performed quality work. A little pricey - but I don't mind paying for quality and professionalism. However, there was work that was requested, estimated, and discussed that was not performed.

We were told by the technicians to call and schedule another visit. Two voice mails later and no response. We're done with Corbin. We are looking for another electric contractor.

I called and arranged an appointment for a job. Gentleman showed up told me what needed to be done with no drama. I got my written bid and I felt it was fair in comparison to other bids. Sent off signed contract and scheduled a date

I am not feeling very positive about Corbin Electric. I had a generator installed 9 months ago, paid them in full and still don't have use of my generator. I have made several calls and calls have not been returned and no effort has been made to resolve the situation. My patience is wearing thin at the moment and am about to take more aggressive steps. I would not be able to recommend this company under these circumstances.

So we are having a pandemic, and I understand that things are slower, but this is gone particularly badly. I own a generator that was installed by this company. We had a great experience - fair price and absolutely nothing to complain about. When I called for service as recommended by the manual however, no one ever called me back. I called back, twice, leaving three messages in three weeks, one with a live person and two on a machine, and never heard anything.

So I called a fourth time, and I just asked when I might hear back. That's all I wanted to know and even said that if they would just give me a timeline, I promise I wouldn't call again until at least that amount of time had passed. The woman I spoke with was so irritated by what she obviously viewed as impatience on my part, that she let me know that she "did not work in that department and just answers the phones".

When I went full Karen on her and asked if I could speak to a supervisor, she let me know that one would call me back and literally hung up on me. That was two weeks ago, and still no one has ever called. I found a competitor, and their outgoing message says that all voicemails are returned within 24 hours; this furthers my theory that it wasn't too much to ask to get called back, even just to be told that they are too busy to get to me, within three weeks or, as it has been now, five.

I hate writing negative reviews, but I feel implored to let both the supervisors at the company and the general public know how I have been treated. I literally just wanted a timeline after three weeks went by and started the conversation cheerfully. I don't think this is too much to ask. But being ignored and even hung up on has actually left me upset. Bottom line: can not recommend. Corbin, call me.

Excellent work and within a week my Generator was needed. I am using Corbin for other electrical work. I recommend them

Very happy from the start to finish everything was planned to schedule the technicians were great they kept everything clean and neat never had a service experience like this before where everybody from the office staff to the technicians and sales were great thank you so much Vince Signorile

Horrible service. We have had nothing but problems since using Corbin. Our generator is about 6yo, we have had nothing but problems. Every time they come out it is another $185 service call to return for the exact same thing. They don't want to hear what the problem is, just that you will be paying the $185 for the technician to leave the machine in "good standing, " which is not the case. I would not advise using this company at all. The customer service in the office is just as bad.

I have had nothing but issues with Corbin since we started the process of installing a Generac. To not filling out the proper paperwork for permits to following up on inspections, etc. We started this process in February and it is now July 1st and still do not have a functioning Generac. When the meter failed inspection the first time they just blew it off and said oh we will take care of that. Needed the Generac on Saturday when power went out and guess what it just sucked all the gas out of all the appliances in the house and cut out!

Pay all this money for a generator and still does not work. Just spent my time on the phone with the gas company because Corbin says not their problem. Apparently they did not fill out all the proper paperwork to make sure the lines were proper. Now have to wait on the gas company to come back out and inspect the lines to see what is going on. Corbin was suppose to simulate a power outage when they installed it and supposedly everything worked properly, obviously that is not the case!

I would not recommend this company to anyone Update: Corbin rectified the situation. Turned out to be the flow of gas from the street level which the gas company corrected and Corbin came back out and made sure everything was corrected and working properly. They were very attentive and made sure it stayed working after several minutes.

I had Corbin Electric install my Generac generator and they also perform the general maintenance twice a year to my generator. From the installer Robert who was very professional and did a great job to my steady maintenance guy Vincent leads me to say that I would highly recommend this company.

Technicians fully explained everything that they were doing so I could understand. They arranged for all permits and inspections for us. So far everything is going smoothly. One of the technicians noticed that my dryer vent was not attached to the outside of house properly and he fixed it. That is great customer service!

Corbin Electric is on time, reliable, professional. Highly recommend. They installed a whole house generator for us in Basking Ridge, installation went well, no issues. Mike

Unlike the other review we had a very good experience with them. They came out to our house, gave us a fair quote and we gave them the job. They showed up on time. They were very neat and very professional. Whenever I have called, a receptionist answers the phone and connects me to the proper person I need to speak to. I have never been put on hold for a long time. I will use them again in the future.

Corbin replaced our electric panel. They quoted us a much better price than other companies. They were efficient, polite and neat. We were 100% satisfied with Corbin, from the people that work in the office to the electrician that they sent (Chris). 100% satisfied, would highly recommend.

Corbin Electric did work on my house a few weeks ago. They did a great job! Chris was on time and very professional. Today I had a problem with my central air and Corbin sent out Greg and Mitch and in no time they found and fixed my AC. Thanks guy!
