Nichols Electrical Contracting

I made an appointment for Nichols Electrical to come to my house on Wed., June 8, 2022 to check the circuit breaker for my dryer. Panel box was installed less than a year and was covered for parts and labor. Upon entering my house the Technician was more interested in the dryer and said he was there to check the dryer. I said no you are here to test the circuit breaker to the dryer as it has tripped off several times in the past month.

He said if he did anything to the dryer I would be charged $195 for a service call. He tested the circuit breaker, it was fine. He then walked to the dryer and tested the outlet. He said that was fine and he would write up a bill for $195. I did not feel he did anything to the dryer. I paid the bill and was upset. I felt I was taken advantage of as a senior citizen and are a female.

I told him I would not be calling Nichols Electrical or Plumbing ever again. I write this so others will not be tricked and scammed as I was. They hesitate to tell you their price when you make the appointment. They are very expensive. The technician said their prices are what they are as they have such good warranties, insurance and the price of gas to get to the house is very high right now.

I can't say enough about this company. Everything from estimate to scheduling the work was pleasant and professional. Very responsive to giving estimate in a timely manner. I had electrical and plumbing work done. My electrician Mike really knew his stuff and completed 5 different jobs in one day. Outstanding work and really communicated well. Explained everything he was going to do and answered all of my questions thoroughly.

He was a great guy. The plumbers are finishing up tomorrow. All the work done to date has been top notch and very reasonably priced. I highly recommend this company for all your electrical and plumbing jobs. You won't be disappointed and can rely on quality work. Update: Jeremiah finish the plumbing today and did a great job. Going to really love the shower addition to the powder room upstairs in the bedroom.

All I can say is we had a fantastic experience with this company. Justin Hinkley was outstanding. Nicest guy. Fast, polite, knowledgeable and very personable. My fiance and I had to leave for an appointment and my mother came to the house to watch our daughters while we left and even my mom told me what a great guy he was. He knew exactly what he was doing we have old electric in our home (built in the 50's) and he hung our new chandelier in the dining room and told us more about our wiring than anyone else has known.

The pricing was totally fair considering the amount of work that had to be done. He even called on his way to see if we wanted coffee. I just can't say enough about this experience it was all around 5 stars!

Tim gave us an estimate to replace 3 bathroom fans that were original. Tim was very professional throughout the process. Very impressed. The companies follow up is great, which a lot of companies do not do. When he arrived he put on booties and went right to work. Very neat. When he was done reviewed what he did with us. This is a great company and staff for residential and commercial work. He also fixed a shower head that needed tightening.

Nichols Electric & Plumbing and Hess Harden are the very best! We called after hours on Monday evening, and received an appointment for Tuesday morning! Hess arrived on time, and made everything right within 30 minutes! He took care of a faucet problem & a water heater problem for us. Hess accompanied me throughout the house, to make sure that all our faucets were working properly after he turned our water back on. Professional, efficient, knowledgeable, and courteous! We'll have Hess back to do a couple of plumbing upgrades for us soon. Thank you Nichols & Hess for all your help!

I am very pleased with the service that I received from Nichols Electric and Plumbing. Joe Brennan did an excellent job with plumbing repairs that we needed done. He called first and arrived during the time period that I was given when scheduling the appointment. Joe was professional, knowledgeable, and very clear on his explanations from start to finish. He also had no problems with our big dog being around. Would definitely recommend Nichols Electric and Plumbing and will use again in the future.

It can be difficult playing phone tag with contractors, so when I saw that with Nichols you could just pick a time and date online and the visit is all scheduled, it was such a relief. The convenient and quick booking is great and the guy that came out, Mike, was really nice and did a good job. Might cost a little bit more, but it's worth it to not have the headache of waiting for other companies/contractors to call you back. This was a smooth, professional experience and I'll be using Nichols again in the future.

This was my first time using Nichols. I was so impressed with their communication - calls, emails and texts to remind me of the appointment and to keep me updated on the tech's location. They even sent a photo of the technician before his arrival. Neil was friendly and professional. When he ran into an unexpected issue, Dan arrived to assist and was also wonderful to work with. They fixed the electrical issue and the invoice was very reasonable. Thanks for everything! We definitely recommend the services available at Nichols Electric and Plumbing.

Michael Masters and Ethan were both very professional, informative, and a pleasure to work with. They were both very respectful and kind to both our dogs taking precautions to keep them inside the house. They spent time answering my questions with each project as we walked through the house. Mike helped me understand the pricing and costs so we could comfortably make decisions to move forward. Mike and Ethan did an excellent job with our project and made sure we were content with the job before they wrapped up. I look forward to doing more work with them!

I am extremely impressed with Nichols Electric. I was beyond desperate to have my electric restored and RGE identified the problem to be an internal house issue (breaker panel) I spoke with Steve Nichols very early this morning and he was able to assure me he would have someone to my house this morning. Justin couldn't have been more professional, courteous, knowledgeable and efficient. Without a doubt, I would recommend Nichols AND Justin for electrical work Thanks for bringing heat back to me!

We had a toilet repair followed by a new kitchen sink and faucet installation. Joe was very helpful with choosing the correct equipment and most reliable manufacturers. Nichols electric is awesome I have used them multiple times BUT the $200 diagnostic fee is just way too high as a catch all. Especially for something simple like a bad breaker. I figured a wire had come loose and it would be a one or two hours of tracing wires. But diagnosing a bad breaker is a quick job. Really they need to adjust pricing to something like $100 for under one hour diagnostic.

Then X dollars an hour after that. also $40 on top of it to put in a new breaker (2-3minute job with a 5 dollar breaker) is just too high. I know they are licensed and that is expensive but diagnosing a breaker and replacing it should not be more than $180.00 MAXIMUM and i would consider that about $20-$40 too high. This is why I generally don't use Nichols I have another licensed electrician that would do this job for about $100, but unfortunately his schedule was filled up for the week.

I would have done it myself but was out of town. on the positive they are very professional, with good communication! All the employees and the owner is great. I don't use them regularly just because of the prices. But if you have a one off job as a home owner I'd recommend them. If you have constant work (like I do as a landlord) you need to find people that do discounted work for repeat customers or just cheaper prices in general.

Highly recommend. The electrician, Michael Masters, explained everything thoroughly to me and completed all work in a timely manner. Problem was 100% resolved. The office personnel were also very courteous and helpful. Customer service and assistance by all personnel was way above average. It is nice to do business with a professional company with reasonable rates. Thank you!

Used twice now, once for electric and just had them come out yesterday for plumbing. For the electric, Daniel was great and did so many projects around our house to fix some old wiring and get our garage door opener back up and running. He also installed a light fixture for me, some new switches, and cleaned up the wiring outside our house from old phone lines and excess power lines.

Super knowledgeable and explained everything as he was doing it which was very helpful. Will definitely be having him do future projects for us once we have the budget. As for the plumbing, I called on Wednesday afternoon asking for a quote and some emergency help getting a new shower valve installed along with a new faucet/handle set. We were already without a shower for a week and Lisa was kind enough to squeeze us in ASAP! Joe was here at 8:30 the very next day to get our plumbing straightened out!

He was only supposed to do our shower valve but when he noticed our bathroom sink plumbing was incorrectly he made sure to let us know and fixed that for us as well while he was here. Our house has very very old plumbing and a total mess but Joe has a lot of knowledge and was very helpful keeping us in budget and getting our project done on the spot. I'll definitely be reaching out to Nichols for any future electric and plumbing needs!

Nichols installed a hot tub for me. Showed up on time when they told me they showed up and with everything needed to complete the job. Well prepared and professional. Justin took care to be respectful of my space and ensure the work was completed to and beyond my expectations. One of the highest quality and professional contractors I have used and I will 100% call them when I need more work in the future.

The company was prompt in scheduling my appointment and sent reminders! I really liked that the technician called me when he was on his way (in my time window provided). Justin was very informative and knowledgeable about his craft and what we needed fixed. He gave me options and explained everything thoroughly. I will definitely used Nichols for any future needs!

Joe Brennan was awesome. Very knowledgeable and his experience was extensive. He was able to complete the job very quickly & efficiently. He also went above & beyond in his work making sure that other possible future repairs were identified & resolved before they became real issues. Would definitely recommend Nichols & will use them again for any plumbing or electrical work.

Joe was incredible. From the moment he came in the door was professional, courteous, and easy to talk to. He explained exactly what he was thinking, got us on the same page, and luckily for us, was able to get an electrician to finish the job of converting to an electric water heater same day. Joe is everything you hope an emergency service person will be. I have absolute confidence in his expertise and cannot recommend him highly enough for all your plumbing needs! Be good to him Nichols! He's a gem.

Joe from Nichols moved our washer and dryer to a new location in the basement and removed and capped off some old gas pipe. He came up with a great plan for new gas lines, water lines, and had to cut into 4 cast iron for a stand pipe. He did absolutely terrific work! Very professional, clean looking job, done on time at a reasonable price. We highly recommend Joe at Nichols and will be having him back for additional work. Update: Had Joe Brennan back to install a back up sump pump and a pressure reducing valve after Lisa managed to fit us into his schedule on short notice.

There was a tiny pin hole leak in the outlet PVC that Joe came back to repair IMMEDIATELY. It's reassuring to know these guys really stand behind their work. We then had Justin change our panel box the following day. We were a bit anxious because it was near freezing and snowing. A house without power in winter conditions can quickly turn bad. Justin was done in about 5 hours with absolutely no problems. And, he's meticulous - beautifully dressed panel box with 38 circuits, lots of old wire that he made look like new. Needless to say, we went all in with Nichols Electric and Plumbing. Great choice for us.
