Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative Residential Fiber customers now have three plans to choose from: 250 Mbps, 500 Mbps or 1 Gbps. GVEC has powered our members' lives with reliable electricity for more than 75 years. As one of the largest electric cooperatives in Texas, we serve more than 85,000 meters in our service area spanning 3,500 square miles over 13 counties. Services
GVEC is a cooperative: at heart, a group of people coming together for a common purpose. This means our primary interest is in reliably and affordably meeting the needs of our consumers, not lining the pockets of financial investors. There are two sides to our cooperative: membership in the not-for-profit electric portion of our business which features exclusive member benefits, and additional services beyond the meter extended to both members and the general public.
To report an outage by phone, call 800.223.4832 and have the service address, meter number or account number handy. If your call is answered by our automated system, please know that it is the same as speaking with a Customer Service Representative: your report will be sent immediately to our 24/7 Control Center.
At GVEC, we believe an important part of our mission is to deliver products and services that empower the people and communities we serve. This includes making it easier and more affordable to own items that encourage energy efficiency. This includes making it easier and more affordable to implement energy efficient technology to reduce electrical usage, even up to creating your own energy on-site-also known as distributed energy resources. One way we're able to do this is by offering money-saving rebates.
Early in our history we learned the importance of engaging in economic development and the impact it can have on our area's vitality and prosperity. It is also one more way GVEC can support our members and their communities. These activities include: helping to facilitate meetings between community groups and other stakeholders; representing our area in economic development-related forums at the state and national levels; working with legislative representatives on initiatives; and assisting area Chambers of Commerce and Economic Development offices in attracting industry and events.

This company has gotten horrible in a hand basket. Upping charges. Claiming excessive use with no proof and not honoring agreements or payment arrangements. Lastly disrespectful to customers especially over the phone. Different representatives giving out different information. Not for profit organization?

GVEC has been really helpful and responsive. Matthew and Travis were excellent to work with. They answered all of our questions and promptly responded to our requests.

The whole experience was great! Each member of the crew was courteous and helpful. Each member had his job to do, and did it efficiently and effectively. It was amazing. We have been a member of GVEC for our personal property as well as rental properties for the last 30 years. Their customer service has always been great and have had positive attitudes for the most part. Being in customer service myself I know how hard that can be sometimes.

Went in to set up our account. Very friendly and efficient. Explained their phone app. We received confirmation once the electrical service was transferred from previous residents to us. Everything was easy and has gone according to plan.

My family is currently in mourning and forced to reschedule appointments and alter service provisions. the Customer Assistance personnel have been very understanding and accommodating, as have the Service personnel. As a customer since 1983, I have no complaints

My credit card was hacked, So I went in to the 46 location. I was greeted warmly by several of the staff. The man that handled my trans action was also very friendly and knowledgeable. Overall it was a Great experience.

Called to transfer service into my name from previous owner. Spoke with Liz and was blown away by the professionalism and politeness during our call. She did not rush me and was personable during entire encounter. Transferred two meters with no issues and set up GVEC smarthub. Kudos to GVEC and star employee Liz. Mr. Fernandez

After having some issues with my internet speeds I reached out to GVEC for some assistance. They sent out Jason and Ryan within minutes troubleshooted the issue, informed me of the issues, and how to remedy them (A new router). These techs were extremely knowledgeable, courteous, and got the job done! Now the house is filled with high speed internet for all to enjoy. Thanks GVEC, these guys were excellent!

We just moved into our new home and had the utilities put into our name. The agent who assisted me was fast, friendly, and knowledgeable. She was able to answer all of my questions and let me know about their Electric Vehicle charger credit since I'm getting one soon. The only complaint I would have is their deposit. I was informed they would run a credit check which would determine the amount if any.

I was shocked when I was told I would have a $150 deposit despite knowing I have a near perfect credit score. But the deposit is refunded after 12 months, so it's not a big deal. I just think they should reevaluate their deposit requirement standard.
