Friendly office assistant responded to Yelp inquiry in the first half hour on a Monday morning, picked up the phone instantly, and booked me same day within a two hour window. 2-worker team politely listened to my concern and worked quickly to diagnose and repair my situation and charged me their minimum diagnostic fee (I would have milked myself for a bit more!). **This is a duplicate post using my correct account.** Yes, I recommend this business. Cost: 4.5k Needed to get a new service panel installed without modifying any internal wiring inside the home. I reached out to BK Electric on Yelp and spoke with Gustavo. He asked for some pictures and swung by a day or so later to have a closer look. Gustavo provided a quote and explained his plan to get it accomplished.
I really appreciated that he took his time to explain what he had in mind. We got back to him a few days later and got scheduled. A down payment was needed, which Chanel helped to coordinate. We received confirmation that payment went through and schedule was set. The estimated completion time was 1.5 to 2 days. Gustavo and Santos ended up completing everything in 1 day. Thanks a lot for getting this done right!

The whole experience with BK was great. Very responsive and good communication. Aldo came to give an estimate (for EV plug installation) and was great at explaining what needs to be done and what's possible. Even better, it was he that showed up the day of the appointment to do the actual install. Very friendly and very reliable, very fair price.

Had to get an electricity panel upgrade at short notice. BK Electric were great - responded quickly, matched a competing quote and were on-site to do the work within 48 hours. Initially, there was an issue with the work - the contractors did not properly replace/mend the screens on my crawlspace air vents after they had routed some new conduit through them. However, as soon as I reported the issue BK Electric were back on site to address the problem, no questions asked. Will definitely be coming back here for future work.

Fantastic company and fantastic employees! Gustavo was very thorough when we did a walk around my house and yard looking at all the places I wanted changes and additions made. Gustavo pointed out two possibly dangerous electrical problems. I am so grateful these electrical problems were pointed out so I could take care of them. When the crew arrived, on time, Gustavo took Gonzales all around to personally discuss and point out all the work that needed done.
No time wasted, immediately, Oscar, Juan, and Gonzales went straight to work. These men are experienced, knowledgeable, friendly and neat with all the work performed. I had an electrician come and give me a quote last Tuesday - walked them through everything I wanted done and then never heard back from them again despite me following up numerous times. Pretty disappointing. I've updated to 2 stars because: they finally called me after I left a one star review. I was sent a quote 2.5 weeks after I paid $125 to have an electrician inspect the property. They never offered to refund this amount and asked me to delete my review as it was affecting their business.

Had Gustavo install a new outlet in my garage and replace a ceiling fan. Work was estimated quickly and to the point which is when I immediately scheduled for the work to occur soon after. He also quickly resolved another issue I was having with a separate outlet by asking me key questions where the power could be controlled, etc - through his experience and positive helpful attitude, the issue was fixed immediately.
All work was completed in a very timely manner and the work looks good. Gustavo was very responsive, fair and explained things as necessary. Pricing feels on the higher side as compared to other electricians I've used, however, these guys show up, do the work well and keep things clean - that's the cost of business these days in Los Angeles.

Home purchase in Sherman Oaks, my new neighbor referred us to bk electric services. We did a light remodel and Mario and Gustavo did a fantastic job. They replaced our beige switches and outlets with newer ones and installed some bathroom fans. They did a nice clean job I would recommend them to anyone looking for an honest electrician with good prices.

I just bought a townhome that was flipped by the previous owner and as a result has some shoddy electrical. BK Electric came out fast and took a look at my issues then fixed them the very same day. I looked on Yelp and put a message out for an Electrician. I got a few responses but BK had great Yelp reviews and their $85 diagnostic charge seemed very fair compaired to others. I realize it says you get a 10% discount if you get them from Yelp. I forgot to ask for that. They came to my house, were very professional and were masked. Mauricio and Jeffrey were the technicians.
I had a couple of small jobs and they did it all well. One of the issues was a bit more complicated and needed some new wiring and they did this too. I had another issue with some outdoor lighting and they were honest and suggested it wasn't worth trying to make it work. I highly recommend them and will use them again. Thank you

My experience with BK Electric was actually ongoing at the time of this review. However, due to delays, I felt the need that I could not wait any longer to leave my feedback. The initial consultation went well enough. The team provided a fair quote for the job at hand. Following some discussions over the phone, we agreed on the work (electric panel replacement and some basic wiring realignment). BK was awesome in initially setting up the work to start on the weekend to not interfere with my working from home and my daughter's zoom schooling. However, starting from there, there was a list of almost comical errors (mostly communication), here is a list of the communication gaps during our time with them: - Did not inform me of options on the type of electric panel (wall mount v flush) - Never informed me of complications on first day of job (power was to be cut 1 hour into visit but we weren't informed no power cut for hours) - Did not inform me that original riser would remain despite the need for a new one - Unclear on the final status of the wall following work; explicit conversation with staff prior to initiating job that "no holes would remain" after work.
I fully understood stucco clean-up would be needed but not full blown holes. - Never discussed placement of ground rods - Failed to update on inspection time - Criticized others work (previous work from another electrician); feels unprofessional My frustration with this company is with all the little details. They also damaged some of our landscaping and when I showed one of them, his colleague seemed to smirk and laugh at my issue.
There was also an awkward exchange with one of the owners of the company where they made it clear that this job was not his priority. Lastly, we recently re-experienced an old issue around high winds affecting our power. However, this was resolved prior to BK's involvement through the cutting of a tree in our neighbor's yard. It's a bit odd that an issue would resurface after the introduction of their work.
Final Edit: The issue was connected to their work. However, LA DWP came out today (unannounced) to finalize the work with a new meter and installing permanent connections. As with everything else with BK, it would have been nice to know that this was the true final step in the upgrade process. I had no clue DWP was coming and although BK couldn't say when it would happen, the fact that it was going to happen would have helped me better understand the full process.
I think overall this company needs to re-evaluate the way they communicate with the customer. It feels like other vendors that I have worked with recently reached out to confirm satisfaction with the job. I fully understand that my situation might be written off as a lost cause but they shouldn't make me feel that way.

I recently hired B.K. Electric for some work I needed done in my house. 've never dealt with such an easygoing company. They made it very easy on me to fix the problem I was having at home. When I called and told them about my problem they right away scheduled me in for the same day. The electricians were at my house 2 hours later. They are quick and professional. You can tell these guys know what they are doing. Very impressed! Will definitely be a returning customer!

I recently hired BK, for some electric work I needed done in my house. From replacing old lights to new Recess Lights, to installing gfci that are up to code ( that my previous electrician wasn't aware of), and to installing a car charger. They did the work quick and were very punctual with our timeline. I am going to be calling them again when I need more work done. I recommend speaking with either Alexis or Channel.

Ugh. I hate when you get quoted a price and then when it is done it's more than double. I received a quote for $85 to fix my WIFI light switch. I received a quote elsewhere for $120 so naturally I went with BK electric. The issue was the WiFi part wasn't working, so he just removed that part and left it working as a normal switch. After the electrician is done, of course, now the price is $220.
Then I said, I was quoted $85. He says that's just the troubleshooting and since he put a new switch for me, it will actually be $180 now. First, don't even know how he originally said $220. Trying to rip me off already. Secondly, a switch is seriously $10, so I guess I got charged 8x the price. Sounds like they just didn't want to give me the originally quoted price. Also, he said my original switch is faulty bc the click doesn't stick when you press it, but that's just how the switch has always worked and I have the exact same switch upstairs which works perfectly.
If it does need to be replaced, then fine, but to use that as excuse to charge me double is appalling. They technically didn't even fix my WiFi switch, they just removed it completely. I was fine with that assuming the price was $85 and I didn't want to pay more to get the WiFi switch to work. But all you're doing is removing the WiFi part rather than actually fixing it, and somehow have the audacity to charge $180.
It cost me less to turn it into a WiFi switch then it did to have it removed. To top it all off, he leaves and all of a sudden my microwave doesn't work. Luckily I noticed right away and called him to return. He had to fix it within what he did with the light switch. Glad he came back and I'm sure it was just an oversight. But I bet if I didn't catch it till later, they probably would have charged me to come back and fix what they broke.

BK Electric are great. Alexis handles the scheduling and she is a very personable and professional. Project manager Liron came out and gave me a detailed estimate on 14 recessed lights, a bath ceiling fan and 3 switched wall outlets. He came back a week later with a small crew that put it all in. Liron was a pleasure to work with; he listened to my ideas but also was informative and offered a few ideas of his own.
He was also helpful with some creative lighting ideas (I think he might also be a lighting designer). I'm very happy with the work. They even let me switch out the stock bulbs for my own preference after-the-fact. I would recommend them to a friend.

I went to restoration hardware on melrose ave! gosh that place is so big and beautiful. I bought a large crystal chandelier for our entry way. The manager recommended bk electric services and I was told by him that they did the electrical at the store and they hung all the chandeliers. I called them to come out since its about 285 pounds and I wanted it done right. 2 very polite gentleman came out and told me what it takes to do the job. They came back 2 days later with all the equipment to get this up and done. The job looks amazing and these guys are highly recommended.

I just purchased 1947 house in Sherman Oaks and the general inspector suggested I get my wiring looked at. My real estate agent recommended bk electric services who their firm has worked with in the past. Romero and Mike came and gave us a price to rewire all the knob and tube and cloth wiring. About 5 days later they came and started the work and they took upon themselves to get the permits and inspection. I am grateful that I found them and would like to tell people that they are great and friendly if you are looking for quality work at a good price call them.

BK Electric came out to install our ring motion sensors around the house. Our house was just purchased and they suggested we upgrade the electric panel. Our electrical panel was outdated when we bought the home the inspector suggested we change and do some upgrades. I looked for someone local to me in sherman oaks and I heard great things about bk electric. James the foreman came out to do an inspection of the house and panel. He suggested 200amps and he said the office will take care of the permits.
A week later Marcio and Betro came out and did a fabulous job they even had the stucco work done. Inspection passed and we are good to go. We just got the house so we will be calling for more work.

Alexis, I wanted to thank you for the five star service I received Sunday afternoon. Sunday afternoon I contacted 7 electricians in the area to have some minor projects completed and all 7 companies were either unavailable or charging double due to it being on the weekend. I find it a bit comical that all seven companies I contacted claim to be operating 7 days a week, but seem to charge more on the weekends.
