Coggin Electrical was founded in 1990. After serving in the United States Navy and then working for Newport News Shipbuilding for a number of years, David Coggin moved to Surry County Virginia to pursue his dream of starting his own electrical company. In the beginning it was just Dave and a van. Then gradually more and more employees joined the crew and Coggin Electric expanded from doing small local residential jobs to taking on large commercial contracts like government buildings, military bases, and large retail stores.

I had new outlet on it's own breaker installed in my garage to facilitate the charger for my hybrid minivan and the installation of new LED light pads in the ceiling of our kitchen. The work was performed in a professional manner and the electricians cleaned during and after they worked in each area. We were very pleased with the worked performed. I highly recommend using Coggin for any electrical work you may need done.

Previously used them to wire a new home and did excellent job, so of course I used them again when I wanted estimate/options for electric in my garage/workshop. Superior service again, on time, listened to my desires and thoughts, thoroughly identified all options. Currently waiting on estimates so I can decide which way I want to go. Strongly recommend this very well run and highly competent business.
