They have 10 Distribution Locations spread out through the Eastern part of Pennsylvania, with one additional facility in Camden, New Jersey. Services
Reading Electric opened its doors for business in 1956 with one employee and the capability to repair 100 horsepower motors. By 1965 the firm had 12 employees, the ability to repair 500 horsepower motors and added electrical construction capability to serve the needs of industrial customers. Services include repairing electric motors, compressors, generators, and welders.
For over 50 years Reading Electric has been conducting business within two miles of its original location in Muhlenberg Township, Berks County Pennsylvania. Since July of 2000 our corporate office and operations are located in our 40,000 square foot facility located at 80 Witman Road, Reading, PA 19605.
The opportunities for personal growth at Reading Electric vary from vendor training sessions to a tuition reimbursement co-op program, and include apprentice programs in electric motor repair, industrial electricity and machining. We believe each employee should have the opportunity to enhance his/her knowledge and skill sets.
Reading Electric shows its commitment to our customers by providing a wide array of electrical equipment and products. The Sales Division maintains a large inventory of products for many applications ranging from fractional house power motors up to any size motor needed for your application. Our technical sales representatives understand the products and services we provide and can analyze, recommend, and solve your toughest problems.

Friendly, knowledgeable staff, fair pricing. Getting repairs to my RV is never "fun", but my experience with Reading Electric getting my RV generator repaired was as delightful as possible. Specifically, Stanley went out of his way to have me in and out of there quickly. By sitting nearby and seeing his interactions on the work floor, you can tell that the staff here have a great deal of mutual respect and good working relationship.
