A permanently installed Generac home backup generator protects your home automatically. It runs on natural gas or liquid propane (LP) fuel, and sits outside just like a central air conditioning unit. A home backup generator delivers power directly to your home's electrical system, backing up your entire home or just the most essential items.
With rising energy costs and environmental threats looming over your head, it may seem like there's no relief in sight. What you need is a solution that will help you save money, keep your home safe and reduce your carbon footprint. Introducing Generac's PWRcell - a battery storage system that harnesses power from the sun to help reduce your electric bill and provide backup power during utility power outages.
Generac transfer switches make it possible to switch between utility and generator power. Depending upon the application, the transfer switch will either work automatically or manually. A variety of automatic home standby transfer switches are available for use with Generac automatic home standby generators.
Many get their first introduction to portable generators when they need emergency power. During a power outage, Generac portable generators make sure the most important items-lights, refrigerators and freezers, sump pumps, even space heaters and window air conditioners-are up and running, minimizing any disruption to your lifestyle.

Cote electric was super responsive and was here within 24 hours. The item we called them for turned in to a larger project but the technician David was flexible and adapted to the new situation without hesitation. He was personable and helped us resolve the issues we had. We now have two new fixtures in our room and a lot more light!

Critical: Responsiveness Tried to find out if they had a part for my generator. Gave them all the information, and they never got back to me after repeated calls. I saw the response from Cote Electric. The information they posted is false. They made up there own story to try to cover up the lack of professionalism.

6/8/2020 Just had these guys install a Generac backup generator. All I can say is they were fantastic. They showed up exactly when they said they would and the work was impeccable. I was especially impressed with the way they cleaned up after themselves both in the basement where they installed the breaker box and outside. You would hardly know they had been here.

After getting quotes from several electricians for some work I decided to go with Cote electric. I was a little skeptical at first after reading the reviews but I don't always base my decisions on reviews alone. While they weren't the "cheapest" quote they were competitive with others and gave me several "options" to complete my job. Ron and his crew were fabulous, even after running into several issues with what should have been an "easy" job.
After the initial job was completed I decided I wanted a little bit more work done, Ron immediately scheduled his guys to come the next day. After all work was completed the guys left the areas cleaner than they found it. To top everything off Ron personally delivered the generator the ordered, as well as went over how to work it. I've definitely found a a company I will call from now on for any electrical work. Don't let some of the reviews shy you away.

Overall a great company! Three of my Aunts/Uncles got generators from Cote several years ago and they said great things about them. I got several quotes for a generator and Cote was the most competitive so I decided to go with them in addition to great word of mouth. A few days before install Ron mentioned they no longer had the generator in stock but it should be in any day.
The plan was to do the electrical work at my scheduled date and then install when they got the generator in. When they showed up they had the generator with them so I was impressed. I am happy with the work they did and they even came back in the spring to seed the lawn around the generator in case they caused any issues with the soil while installing in February. This is just great customer service and company that cares about their customers. I am looking forward to working with them again in the future.

Beware of the "Service Plan". It's a total scam and all they do is forge a fake ticket saying it was completed and a date. Follow along and you'll see how I know this. Cote Electric has supposedly been servicing our Generac Generator for the past 3 years. It stopped working 4 months ago and we called to get it repaired. 4 months! My wife would call every week to get status updates and they would constantly make stuff up to get her off the phone. You're next on the list, you're 4th on the list, someone will be out today, we have to order a part, etc, etc.
Every week she would call and every week she was told something different. She was always very polite and patient and they took advantage of that. I'm not so polite and patient and when November came around and the temperatures dropped I had finally had enough. I called another company and what they discovered was shocking! The generator had dirty contact valves. That's it! 4 months of BS from Cote and that was the only problem!
The tech was here for 2 hours. He cleans the valves, tunes it up and charges only $30 more then Cote charged for their service plan. So how do I know Cote was scamming me for 3 years? Well, I work nights and I was home last year when Cote came by. The guy was here 10 minutes. Just enough time to make footsteps in the snow and put on a nice new sticker saying the service was completed.
I told the tech from the new company about this and he said it's impossible to do any kind of service in 10 minutes. I should have known better and done something about this last year but the generator still worked back then and I didn't want to be bothered so I told myself everything was fine. They must know what they're doing. They knew what they were doing alright. Ripping me off!
No service was completed last year. Their were no new parts installed. The oil and valves were filthy and that's why it wouldn't work. The poor communication and 4 month wait for service would be reason enough to give Cote Electric a bad review. Throw in this service plan scam they got going and now you have.in my humble opinion, the worst company I have ever dealt with. Ever!
I should report them but my generator works great now so I'm moving on. I wrote this long review as a way to vent my frustrations and I hope new and existing customers read this very long review and find another company to do business with.

Do not do business with these people. You will regret it. I purchased a brand new 900 dollar portable generator from them. The technician went over it with me before I loaded it in my truck. He couldn't get it to turn over. He tried for about a half hour and it didn't work. He asked if I could go do something for an hour and he would try to fix it.
I then decided I didn't want that one and asked for a new one. They didn't have one so I upgraded to the electric start which was almost 1500. They told me someone put a down payment on it but never came and got it. This one started by the pull cord but wouldn't with the electric start. The technician said the battery just needs to be charged. If it doesn't start after you charge it for a few days call us we will come to your house install a new battery and fix anything else that is wrong with it all covered by us.
I said great and took it home. Three days later the handle breaks on it and the battery won't hold a charge so the electric start is now useless. I call them up and they say they will fix it but will charge me 50 dollars to pick it up from my house and 50 dollars to drop it off. I explained I was told they would come to my house to fix the issue and they said absolutely not you will pay us for that.
And we don't work on things at peoples homes we do it at our shop. I told them I would then bring it in. I called them the day before I brought it in and they said bring it in the morning. I had to park close to a block away because of my truck and job trailer being so long. I had to pretty much drag it because of the broken handle. Once I got to there door the OWNER told me they were to busy and to bring it back at lunch time.
I dragged it back to the trailer then brought it back again at noon missing more time from work. They said it would be done in two days but they had it for over a week. They called me up saying they wanted to save me money on the repairs by drilling holes in the handles and adding cotter pins. I said it's under warranty still it's a two weeks old and I want it fixed right not cobbed.
They said the owner is saying you need to pay for it. I then got in a pissing match with the person on the phone until they said they will talk to the owner and call me right back. Four days later I called back and they said they ordered a new handle and to pick it up in a few days. I go to pick it up and I am told I owe them nothing the warranty covered everything.
I look at the handle and it's clearly not a replacement handle. All the did was weld a small block of steel on it and painted it orange to blend in. The handle now doesn't have the capability of staying latched. Total cob job. I leave and then receive a bill in the mail several weeks later for all the work they performed. I call them and they apologize.
Several weeks after that I get another bill then another one. I call them again and speak to someone and they tell me they will take care of it and call me back the next day. Of course I never get a phone call but I do get a bill. I call them again and leave a message on the owners voicemail explaining everything and to please call me back. They call me back apologize and tell me the owner wouldn't call me so they are now made to deal with this and he's made his mind up I owe them the money.
These people are cons. Don't do business with them. They will do the same to you as they did to me. If you need a generator or generator repair go to chapel tractor in Brentwood or concord. They will treat you with respect and courtesy. Plus they will fix it correct the first time.

Ron is the absolute worst. I called and spoke with him on Monday asking him to give us a quote- he made an appointment with me to come the following day at 5:30. My husband and I left work early to be there. Ron never showed up and never called to let us know he wasn't coming. I called and left a message that night asking someone to call me back. Nobody bothered to so I called again today.
I was told by a receptionist that she had spoken with Ron and he "apologizes but he just got caught up with something else and couldn't make it". I stated that he could have at the very least called to tell us. She then went on to tell me that he wouldn't be able to come and give us an estimate for at least a couple weeks- so, not only did he blow us off, not care about our time or have the decency to call and let us know he wasn't coming; he also went from wanting to come the next day to obviously not caring about our business and not making it out for a few weeks.
If he didn't want to take the job that's fine- be up front and tell us that from the beginning. Don't waste our time and energy by making appointments and not showing up. We are obviously going to go with a different company (which it seems like he clearly didn't want our work anyway).

I had to call Cote electric when half the electricity in my house stoped working, I was hoping it was just a fuse but my regular handyman looked at it and could not find the problem. My appt was at 8:45 and at 8:35 I got a call from the service person that he would be 15 mins late. He showed up right at 9 and searched for the problem for 2 hours. My house is over a hundred years old so it was not easy to find what was wrong.
The service man (I wish I remembered his name) was very professional and never gave up. Eventually he found the problem and got it working! I was very nervous at what the cost would be, and absolutely floored when the price was only $165! I would definitely call Cote electric again.

Our standby generator stopped working during the Thanksgiving 2014 storm. It both had an "under voltage" alarm and oil leak. After trying to (like many people) figure it out ourselves and (like many people) getting no where, I searched online and found Cote Electric to be highly recommended. When I called them for service, Chris came out that very same afternoon, explained the problems to me, fixed both the cause of the alarm and the leak, then test-ran the generator to make sure it worked.
He even showed me the parts of the generator that caused the annoying but simple-fix problems. He said all the repairs should be covered by the warranty so we needn't worry. Then he wiped the oil splatters from inside the generator, even cleared the snow from its sides, before tactfully going. Extremely professional, efficient and reliable. Highly recommend.
