For electrical repair, the technician was very courteous and friendly, explained everything clearly, and was quick and competent. We also used Clinton Electric for a generator installation. the process took over a month, but the company kept us very well informed of the process and steps in completing the installation. They acted as the "orchestra director" for the generator itself, the plumbing (gas), BGE, and the county inspectors, which made it so easy for us. Everyone was professional and friendly and explained everything very clearly. I will definitely use Clinton Electric again.

Thomas Christopher did an awesome job fixing our generator. Thomas was timely, friendly, knowledgeable, and understands the Generac product and its components. additionally, Laura was great when I initially called in in need of service. She was able to have Thomas come out the same day I called for assistance. Additionally, Laura kept me up-to-date on the status of the part needed for our generator. I cannot say enough about the customer service from both Laura and Thomas. Clinton Electric is lucky to have both of them as employees. I highly recommend this company.

One of the worst contractor experiences in my life. Reading the reviews, I see I'm not the only one. During my consultation and one day job, I witnessed terrible business practices, dishonesty, anger issues, and shoddy workmanship. They left a huge whole in my decorative finish with no intention to address it. When I asked for compensation (someone has to be paid to fix it), the company owner called me and yelled at me. Technician too, dropping cigarette butts and getting angry. I'm a contractor myself and pissing off your client is literally the worst thing you can do. There's a toxic masculinity at this company that makes me especially dissuade women from using them. Wished I'd checked the reviews before I used them. I was in too much of a hurry. Don't make my mistake.

We had a great experience with Bruce from Clinton Electric. He installed recessed lighting in our kitchen. The lights look great and I thought the price was reasonable. Bruce was very mindful about spacing the lights out in an aesthetically pleasing way and keeping the space clean. I would definitely use them again!

After calling another company and being told they couldn't take on my electrical project I called Clinton Electric. I'm so glad I did! From the initial phone call the receptionist was warm and understanding of my electrical issue. She scheduled my appointment the next day. That morning they called me and actually moved my appointment up to an earlier time which I appreciated very much!
When John (who is awesome by the way) arrived, he explained everything in detail, answered every question I had, and was very knowledgeable. He found the source of the problem, worked efficiently to correct it, and installed a surge protector to keep our appliances and electronics safe. I also appreciated that he didn't try to oversell us on things we didn't need after we inquired about a heavy up.
They do charge a $79 service fee but remember that company I called before Clinton, they wanted $150! IMO service fees are expected and I'm willing to pay it if it means keeping my family safe from electrical issues. Thank you John and Clinton electric for a phenomenal job!

Clinton was the best choice I could've made in calling for emergency electrician work. To put a long story short an outlet in our 1970's house shorted and caused a small fire we had the fire dept out and we're told that the house was fine but to turn on the electric again we would need approval of an accredited electrician. I quickly scanned Google for results and called Clinton and the receptionists I spoke with were very accommodating and even wrote down information pertaining to my situation before I even approved to have them come out to do the work.
I talked to my home owners insurance and was given the green light and called Clinton back they assured me that Luke would be out in within the hour. Luke arrived right on time and was polite and informative he spoke with me about the situation that occurred detailed the plan to repair and clued me in on other things that needed repairs that went unnoticed in other spots in our house.
He did the repairs in a very timely manner and even took the time to look at items that could have caused the fire (my pressure washer or camera plugged into the outlets) he explained everything with simplicity and didn't try to oversell anything and overall was very outspoken about Clinton as a company and how he was happy with his work and how they treat employees which is always a good sign of trust when hiring technicians of any kind to do work in your home.

I have contracted CEC twice now for projects and they are the only electric company that Ii will use going forward! They are quick, punctual, and always professional. Luke is extremely talented and knowledgeable He installed this light over my table with extreme precision and made the process very easy. He even neatly patched all the holes. /10 We can't wait for our next project with CEC

I had a fabulous experience with Clinton Electric, specifically Eric Shipley. Eric is amazing: on time, friendly, knowledgeable, professional. He had my electrical issue diagnosed and corrected within 1 hour, for a great price. Clinton Electric, and Eric, are my new "go to" electricians for my own home, and will recommend to all of my clients as a realtor. Thank you, Clinton!

Technician Thomas Christopher was friendly and knowledgeable. He explained my system status lights and determined I needed a new battery. Informed me that I don't need a key, contrary to what I was told earlier. Also explained he didn't have a battery on his truck that fit my system and that Clinton Electric will call when battery arrives next week. Negative was that he wasn't wearing a mask.

I had a delightful experience with Clinton electronic company. Eric was extremely professional and took the time to explain the issues he identified and the solutions he will execute to correct the problem. It was a high quality service that I would highly recommend, especially for those looking for a reputable license electrician who can take care of your electrical issues at hand.

Installed surge protection, new smoke alarm and bubble protector for outdoor outlet. Thanks for giving me more peace of mind!

This is the second time I've had Clinton come out to give me a quote on a project. I particularly appreciate that they sent out the same tech both times, I enjoyed catching up with Jordan and also getting his honest answer about my next electrical project. One of the things he said going out the door was that he's not the cheapest, but he's the best.
And that is actually the truth for once. The first project he did for me (replacing my panel) was on time, neat, organized and extremely well done. I have found that some tradespeople get you from A to B but there is no care or concern or respect for their trade in between. Jordan treated me with respect (even though I know minimal about electric) and his work is impeccable.
There's a reason I called out the same company 3 years later! Thank you for your continued quality staff and workmanship! Definitely consider using them in the future. They are transparent about their pricing and honest. And the product you receive is what you were expecting. (Just remember that cheapest isn't always best! In fact, it could cost you MORE down the line.)

Jake fixed all of our issues and found other safety concerns he was able to fix as well. He was kind and did a great job. All of our appliances are working properly again and we feel safer in our house. We are definitely going to be using Clinton electric company from now on. Thanks. There is a special place in hell for people that use scare tactics on senior citizens and deceive them for financial gain. Keep in mind, the average price of an electrician in Maryland is between $40 and $100 an hour. Clinton Electric's pricing is not transparent. They quoted $79 for an electrician's visit. This leads people to believe the total visit, including diagnosis will be $79.
In this case, Clinton Electric actually first quoted $64 to my parents and then the receptionist changed the figure to $79 after asking for my parents' ZIP Code. When the electrician arrived, after writing a report he informed my parents the diagnostic charge would be several hundred dollars more. This is a shady practice. This is not a customer-centric procedure.
The electrician should first inform people of the diagnostic fee before applying the charge, giving the customer an opportunity to refuse. Customers are misled to believe that the dispatch fee will be the complete charge for diagnosis of the problem. Clinton electric charged nearly $400 for one hour, and repaired nothing. No parts were used. So beware: the price you receive over the phone is not what you will pay in person. Be prepared. And whatever you do, get a second quote.

Only one because i have too- so after waiting 10 days for my appointment ( 10-12 was my time slot ) they never showed up! Never called to say hey we're running late, then, at 230 I get the " our technician is on his way" by that time I found a professional company and they are taking care of the problem. It's crazy that companies can get away with this, what a waste of time. Don't say you weren't warned.

The guy came out and quoted me 370.00 to install a ring doorbell and service my deck audio system. He seemed very professional and nice. I told him to do the work and that I was going to work and that my wife was home and that she'd pay him. I EVEN TIPPED HIM BEFORE I LEFT! Needless to say I get a call from my wife 3 hours later to tell me that he charged us over 800.00 and didn't even install the BRAND NEW ring doorbell!
He said it was broken! I've called them several times to complain and no one answers and there isn't even an answering service! Beware and do your homework before using this company!

Be aware that this company charges by the job not by the hour. I ended up paying over $300 for something that took less than an hour. But then he spent another hour writing up suggestions and a bid for other work to be done. I feel like I paid for his time to write up his bid. The tech knew what he was doing but he was also a salesman. If you have a small job, you are better off paying by the hour.

My wife called to setup an appointment, and was told by the receptionist there was a fee for the electrician to come out at which point she said no thanks. The receptionist called back 4 times stating the fee would be waived and no fees would be charged until work was actually done. This morning the electrician comes, no work is done and states there is a fee and the receptionist now claims there was is indeed a fee for him just coming out here, and another fee for diagnostics. Bad experience, will not use in the future.

Had a great experience with Jordan who installed a new electrical panel with more space than I had before. He did a very neat job and kept the area clean. Their pricing is very clear and he offered explanations whenever I asked! Overall from making the appointment to getting the quote to the actual work being performed it was easy and very well done. You get what you pay for. This is a picture from before he was done, but I just couldn't get enough of how much better it looked than before!

We've been having a problem where multiple rooms in the house are temporarily losing power. They sent someone out and he spent about an hour trying unsuccessfully to find the problem. For that I was charged $500. I called Clinton to complain and got a call back from the manager of the residential division. He was great, apologized profusely, and refunded my money. So, not a great initial experience, but they definitely took responsibility and made it right.

The guy that did the work was good. However, the $39 fee to come out and look is a pain. 2 cable box plugs at $59 each was fair. Bigger job, I supplied the lights, but the labor was $300 an hour, for 3 hours, to install 4 small recessed lights in my living room. Steep price for labor. Ill shop around next time. I had other electrical projects I wanted done, but the prices were too steep to keep adding on any more work. I went with the internet reviews, and am disappointed. So writing my own review of them.

The technician was very nice and professional but their prices are ridiculously high. They charged me $160 to change a dimmer switch and to check the two lights that were out. In addition they wanted $500.00 to replace my bathroom light/fan. I had a different company who was a sub-contractor to my kitchen remodel give me a quote and it was $150-$175. i found Clinton on Home Advisor where I have found a good painter but this never again. For some reason the review says I am from CA but I am a MD resident.

Made an appointment for 8am; guy showed up at 8:30am. That's not a big deal, but why would they tell me, "he'll be there at 8am" rather than just providing a time range? The guy was nice but their pricing model is flawed. They charged me $98 to come in for 5 minutes and tell me my sump pump was broken (something that I already knew). I guess it's my plumber's fault for requiring an electrician's opinion before replacing the sump pump, but it's still pretty unreasonable to charge someone $98 for 5 minutes of "work" (and when I say work, I mean watching me turn the sump pump on and listening to the noise it made).
The dispatch fee is $39 and the fee to have him watch me turn the sump pump on was $59. Most service companies would fold that initial fee into their service fee, but not these guys. Overall, I just feel like I wasted $98. I wish I could attest to their quality of work, but they didn't do any work - they just charged me for nothing.
