Southwestern Electric Cooperative If you'd told me in 2015 that EVs would be a viable, growing market in 2019, I wouldn't have believed you. Today, I'm a believer. EVs are a practical, cost-effective choice for a growing number of rural residents. Southwestern Electric's operations and engineering teams worked throughout the afternoon to isolate and address a fault affecting the cooperative's Po.

Southwestern Electric operations and engineering teams continue to work toward identifying the source of a fault affecting the cooperative's Pocahonta.

Not giving 1 star due to customer service or maintenance crews. I'm giving 1 star due to the rates and are not solar friendly in any way.

Hello I am a signal maintainer for BNSF Railway. 08/09/2021 I was called out by Sorento to one of my locations. I found power was a off do to a lightning strike on power pole. I called the 1-800 number at 06:59 at 07:35 they had 4 trucks at my location. Outstanding Work

Perhaps they have had a change of staff because everyone I dealt with was more than helpful. We reported a streetlight out and it was replaced in 2 days. We also had a possible grounding issue in the neighborhood and they immediately reported it to engineering and are looking into it.

Our power is never off for long, and it's significantly cheaper than Ameren. During the ice storm in of the winter2006, family in Collinsville had no power for 5 days. We were only down for 20 minutes out in the country outside of Worden. Thanks for the great service.

Absolutely no customer service skills at all and very rude! Their service is absolutely horrible just like the people that work there. They are not willing to work with you at all. If I could go elsewhere I would. This is a pathetic company who is over priced and hires horrible rude people for their office. This company deserves ZERO stars.

The lady I've talked to has always been super nice! But the prices for running heat are awful to the point of not being able to even have heat! 15 dollars a day and we are still freezing half the time! Make that over 20 dollars a day now that the temp dropped! Unbelievable!

Submitted a BBB complaint about the prices of their service being nearly double what surrounding communities are. They responded that they are a specialist in rural areas and haven't raised rates in 6+ years. I live across the street from a hospital that has been there 40+ years, and my house is only 7 years old. Rural communities? Looking back, they started those 6 years at nearly double the price of the local distributor for electricity.

They've got a hold on electricity rates in the area with no other options available, since they don't allow third party servicing. This company has created a monopoly in communities, and they are price gouging customers by reselling the same electricity Ameren does in other communities less than a mile away for 1/2 the price. When submitting a response including pricing for a neighbor just 1/2 mile up the road, they closed the complaint without further response. This Co-Op is a scam disguised as a non-profit.

I have had Southwestern Electric for 30 plus years. Never had any issues with them. If you report your outage right after it goes out they immediately get a team on fixing it. Very happy with my co-op. I do wish they would go solar, I think it would benefit everyone in the long run by cheaper costs.

This is the most disgusting horrid power company that ever existed. I wouldn't be surprised if they answer their phones at the top of a telephone pole. Maybe Mr. Haney would have some customer service suggestions for them. I know Ebb handles all of the repairs I know his mentality. These people are overpaid by all means.
