SunCommon has just finished installed a ground mount system on my property. The planning phase, financing, local building permits, and the installation went as clockwork. It did take a bit longer than first estimated, but that wasn't an issue at all and installing solar panels is weather dependent so it's also totally understandable. Once they started the work it went quick, everyone knew exactly what to do and I appreciate the friendliness form the crew and that they put out a drop-cloth inside the kitchen when they were working in the basement.
I know it's a small detail. I'm very excited about putting my washer and dryer to use knowingly that they are running on green energy. It's a great feeling. I would highly recommend SunCommen. Thank you

It was a pleasure working with Ashley Sweet, my SunCommon sales rep, and the rest of the team. Just the name says it all! Everyone was attentive, very professional and knowledgeable. We looked at all our options and decided on what seems to be the best position for the panels and they worked with me to come up with the payment plan that I can afford for my current situation. Hands down, best solar company to work with.keep doing what you're doing guys, bringing solar energy to all one household at a time.hopefully, we can all have an impact on saving our planet.

When it was still Hudson Solar and I called with an issue I got a very quick response. Since Saturday I have emailed twice and left messages 4 times(because the system is automated and everyone is "busy")and I have yet to get any response. Meanwhile the alarm light is on and my inverter keeps throwing an error message and cycling to get back on.

We had a fantastic experience from start to finish. This is lengthy but worth it; We spoke with Craig Hightower almost a year ago and got a lot of great information. However he was the first person we talked to about solar so we wanted to shop around to feel comfortable. During that time we determined our roof was in bad need of a repair that the previous owners covered up.
Unfortunately we couldn't include the roof repair in the solar loan so we were really considering other companies. After almost 6months of searching NO ONE could come close to the price, the product, or customer service that Craig so with the savings on the overall system price, plus the great financing options- it was THOUSANDS cheaper even with us taking out a loan for the roof with our regular bank.
Although it took us almost a year to make a decision Craig was never pushy and offered to run multiple options for us so we felt comfortable in our decision. Installation; When it rains it pours, literally. Our new roof had a leak after one of the solar rails was installed and instantly I got a bad feeling. However Mike Schilling fixed it ASAP and followed up after a few days, then a few weeks to ensure it was all ok still!
The installation was seamless and Mike took his time to explain everything and never made us feel like we were asking too many questions. As did Loralee, our project manager. I cannot say enough good things about Suncommon and their amazing staff! With all the ups and downs throughout this project they gave me such peace of mind!

After much research and several consultations on which solar company to go with, I am so very happy we ultimately chose SunCommon. From the initial call and throughout the rest of the process, the team was informative, patient and genuinely invested in educating you so you make the best choice for your living situation. So many other companies were trying to push solar leasing - of which the tax credits benefit them instead of the homeowner. Also, SunCommon was the only company in our area that offered the Tesla Powerwall 2 battery which allows you to monitor your usage with the Tesla app, you can even download all your data for more in depth analysis.
Our install took a few days spread out over a few weeks due to wildly inclement January weather, but I cannot say enough about how professional and friendly the crew is. They worked in frigid temperatures to get the job done and both Bryan and Loralee have gone above and beyond to help us understand how to optimize our system settings for maximum output.
Our system is beautiful and our current solar output is already far exceeding expectations. Also, this is one of the few companies with their own in-house teams who do install. vs 3rd party contractors. That was a big factor in our decision making. Highly recommend SunCommon!

I started researching building a ground base solar system in our front yard. While researching, I noticed an ad for a solar canopy. The photo was beautiful. I researched the company and liked what I found. Afterall doing solar is about making the planet a better place so the company counts. I contacted SunCommon eleven months ago. I knew I was going to agree to buying a system but didn't know exactly what it was going to be. Rooftop solar was off the table as the house is about 125 years old and would need too much work to support the weight.
I've always liked ground based solar systems which was what we talked about on the original call. Ended up with the Solar Canopy from the ad. The canopy fits an area with good su, looks beautiful with the benefit of parking two cars under it. Who has solar that is beautiful? The system has 24 LG435N2T-E6, 435W LG NeON H BiFacial Panels, Sunny Boy 7.7 inverter and one Tesla Powerwall.
A second powerwall on order. SunCommon wanted to find the best solution for our property and finances. A canopy is the most expensive way to do solar but it's a system that adds to the looks of our property. SunCommon never tried to upsell. In fact. There are many steps to the project and they did a good job at keeping us informed throughout the ten months.
We got quick responses whenever we had a question. This all happened during the covid pandemic and the wood price spike which both didn't seem to affect anything. Each step of the project had different crews. Using a drone to measure the amount of sun the system will receive. The crew who put the initial screws which hold up the timber framing worked hard to get the placement perfect in our rock filled yard.
The timber framers were craftsmen putting all the timbers into place with just two workers in a single day. The crew who did the trenching to our house did as little damage to our lawn as possible and reseeded it. They had to be careful not to cut the other lines we have running underground which meant a bunch of hand shoveling. The electricians had a hard job to get the wire from the side of our house into the basement.
They needed to get a conduit under a concrete wood stove hearth. It took lots of sleg hammering and determination. The other option would have been to run the wire around to the back of our house adding 30 feet of ugly conduit attached to the side of our house. This level of commitment to do it the best way, instead of the easy way is one more thing that impressed us.
A special thanks to Craig who was our sales representative, for working to get us the system we wanted. Loralee (project manager) was great to work with. Loralee worked with us every step of the process. Answering many questions and keeping us informed as to what was going on each step of the project. I wish I could name each person who was part of the project so that they all know that we appreciate their work ethics and friendliness.
The Sunny Boy web portal shows down to the watt what is being generated. The Tesla app shows solar production, what the house is using, how charged the battery is and what goes back to the grid. Between the two we have real time detailed information on how productive our system is. In the 2 months running we are producing enough energy to power everything in our house.
Not during bad weather but at the end of December we had over 50 kWh extra power in the bank. Not bad for the month with the shortest days of the year. Looking forward to what June will produce. We have had a few short power outages. The Powerwalls have kicked in and we almost don't know we are on backup power. There is one or two seconds until the Powerwalls take oves.
At the time of the photo with the snow on the panels we were still generating 3.94.5kW. That's a big advantage of the BiFacial panels. I would be happy to talk with anyone thinking about getting a solar system, especially if it's with SunCommon. Going solar is a big decision so do as much research as possible.

Ashley Sweet was the project manager for my 40 panel roof top solar system. She and the entire team did a fantastic job and after one year the excess power produced in the summer months have carried us through most of the winter. We also have two electric cars supplied by the house power so the system was sized perfectly for both our home and transportation needs. I'd highly recommend Ashley and the entire SunCommon family.

We just finished our first full year on solar, and couldn't be happier with the installation (9kW). Everyone at SunCommon was great to work with, from our project advisor (Zack Mostov) to the install crew. We knew that SunCommon had the technical expertise to do the install, but their mission-based, employee-focused environment made it a no-brainer. Loving the online monitoring tools that came with the system. Thanks SunCommon!

SunCommon has been an excellent partner to my husband and me as we gone through the process of solarizing our house. Our point person has been Zack Mostov and he has been wonderful. He patiently worked with us to design a system for one house, and when we ended up selling that house, walked us through the design for the second house. With all these changes, he helped us keep within the time frame so that we could claim an important tax credit.
Most recently he explained in clear, understandable English the newest Green Mountain offering of the leasing program for a Tesla power wall (back-up battery). The installation team from SunCommon was a group of enthusiastic, knowledgeable, hard-working young people -- they were a joy to have working outside our house. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Zack and the SunCommon team for anyone considering a solar solution for their home or business.

Our experience with SunCommon has been nothing but positive. Zack Mostov, our primary contact, was responsive and helpful. The installation crew very easy to work with, efficient, and did a great job. We had one small installation issue we mentioned to them, and they were immediately responsive to manage it. I also love that they are a B-Corp and do helpful things for the community. I'd fully recommend them to anyone.

I've had my system for 1 year now and I am glad we committed to getting solar through SunCommon. While there were some delays due to pandemic related supply chain issues, SunCommon upgraded my panels at no cost to me to facilitate a timely installation. And, while the inverter failed a couple weeks following it's installation, they came out and replaced it within a few days - again at no cost.
Since then, everything has worked smoothly and I still enjoy checking my power generation on the app they set me up with. Net metering has treated us well as we still have some power "in the bank". It might be close but the sizing may just be perfect for providing a full years worth of power. If you have the privilege to afford taking this step, reach out to Zack Mostov at SunCommon and get this process started.

We can't say enough about our positive experience working with SunCommon! From the first point of contact and through installation, we have been impressed by the ease, professionalism, and thoroughness of everyone we have worked with. Our advisor, Nick, was especially patient and helpful as we took our sweet time venturing into this new world of solar, which took a lot of explaining and waiting while we considered our options.
We are psyched to have taken this step to using renewable energy, and can now proudly say we have a solar system on our roof! Thanks to Nick, and the whole SunCommon team, for getting us set up!

Fantastic experience with SunCommon. Great communication throughout the project and everything was done on time (actually early, since we originally thought the install would be next spring, but they pulled it off before winter got too bad). So far, so good, all is working as it should. Can't wait to get my Powerwalls next year. My solar advisor, Tim Patterson, was great to work with, and I would recommend he and the company to anyone interested in learning about solar power. Thanks all!

From initially dipping toes in the water of solar panels to queries regarding usage, SunCommon guided me through the process with patience and accurate information on installation, tax incentives, and best array for our electrical needs. Doing this all while maintaining their status as a Certified B Corporation - which drew me to them in the first place! SunCommon has helped my household generate sustainable power at a reasonable price. Thank you!

Tim Patterson was wonderful to work with! We are thrilled with our new system and it was easy as pie to get it done with SunCommon. I have always wanted to "go solar" and quite frankly figured I would not be able to afford it. But at this point I am thinking I could not afford NOT to do this. It's going to save tons of money and pay for itself really fast.
I will know more about how fast after our first full year but I am excited to figure it out. Thanks again to Tim and Ryan and Eri and the whole crew, super efficient and respectful folks.

I am very pleased with the work by the SunCommon team from beginning to end. We started the solar process at our homestead in New Scotland, NY as the Covid-19 pandemic hit, which delayed installation, but we picked right up as restrictions lifted. The SunCommon folks did most of the legwork for financing, kept me updated constantly with progress and next steps, and navigated the entire process well.
The siting and installation crew was friendly, explained everything as they went, solved several challenges because of the layout of our property, and did a professional installation job of the ground-mounted solar array and the Powerwall battery backup in the basement. The crew paid attention to little details to ensure a quality installation that would last, and at the end were proud of their work in making a difference for the climate and sustainability one installation at a time. Thank you Lindsay, Loralee, Tim and Tim, Peter and Dave, and Mike and crew!

We just finished our project. Thirty four 405 watt panels, two inverters and two Tesla batteries, and on sunny days we're generating over 10KW of power. We worked with VSECU on financing the project and the interfacing with SunCommon from the first sales call to the final installation was seamless. Every person we met was extremely professional and friendly. We couldn't be happier, knowing that we're saving money and helping the environment is a great feeling!

After changing out a few appliances from propane to electric, as well as adding an awesome geothermal system from Dandelion Energy, I was in need of adding more panels to my existing system. I reached out to SunCommon primarily because they had merged with/acquired Hudson Solar, who had installed my original panels. From my first conversation with Sales Rep Kris, who was simply a delight, to a beautiful solar array on my roof, SunCommon was fantastic to work with.
I am someone who wants to know every detail and, coincidentally, asks 1,000 questions; every one was answered in full and with genuine enthusiasm. All in all, I'd fully endorse SunCommon to anyone who asks and, honestly, anyone who doesn't ask. If you're like me and would rather pay a fixed (and lower) rate for your energy needs, reach out to them.
I mean, what will electricity cost in 20 years? Well, for me it will be nothing! The way I see it, my long term loan installments will always be lower than the utility payments and, should I sell my house before the loans are up, I'll certainly be able to demand a premium for a house that comes with free electricity. The only caveat, I'd say, is that you'll need to be patient.
We've all grown so accustomed to 2 day delivery that we forget that some things still take time. It's a huge project, including first interview, site analysis, system design, financing, permitting, etc. It actually only took the crew a few days to install the panels once the red tape was cut but you're looking at months. You can mitigate the wait time by calling them today!

After having installed a solar power system with a big national company at a second home in AZ about 3 years ago, I had planned to go with them at a combination new/existing structure at my main home in NY. I feel so fortunate that I'd noticed the many Hudson Solar signs in my area: they provided a MUCH more pleasant, efficient, and ultimately economical solution to my needs.
The national company could/would not deal with a building under construction, despite clear indications of a roof area that could be used, and they continue with their annoying/frustrating corporate communication model, where representatives/concierges/etc. appear and disappear. Hudson Solar could adapt easily to what was on the ground and what was to come, their communication and hierarchy was clear, constant and personable, and they had a larger selection of panels to choose from.
The whole process was MUCH smoother, simpler and faster than dealing with the competitor - and I couldn't be happier with the system that has now been up and running for several months.

Hudson Solar installed a ground-mount system for me several months ago, and overall, I'm very satisfied so far. The system was installed on a very tough, sloped, rocky site--so tough that several other installers declined the job, and I decided to contract separately for site preparation and system installation. Hudson Solar handled the installation, and worked cooperatively with the site prep contractor. They delivered as promised in their contract, the system has passed all inspections, and it is generating the amount promised.

From our first contact to the final installation and start up we found all of Hudson Solar people very knowledgable, helpful, friendly and professional. Brian took all the time needed to explain what to expect as well as what tree work was essential and what %age of available sun we could expect. Jesse came out when the tree people were here to insure the trimming was what was needed.
We discovered, after this, that we were scheduled for installation in the Spring, not in this tax year. We told Jesse how that was a problem for us, we needed the tax incentive for this year and we had not realized the lag between initial order and the time needed for the necessary paperwork. The good weather helped but they got the paperwork expedited and Wes and his crew to us on December 29th, and despite a very icy and steep roof, they managed to get our installation in and started up before the end of the day on December 31st. Having only had solar energy for less than 2 weeks we can only assume the installation is of the same quality and professionalism we saw in the company's Customer Service and what we observed in the people we met.
