Martella Electric

James came out to inspect our electrical panel several years ago right after we bought our house to consolidate and replace our breaker boxes with an updated electrical panel. He was professional, very knowledgeable, and left us confident that we had entrusted our house's electrical system to very capable hands. Everything has worked perfect since then and I've appreciated many times having a well organized and clean electrical box for our home.

I had an issue where an incorrectly and tampered with 4 block breaker was no longer working (tripping and arcing) and Brian not only immediately identified the problem, explained to me what the person who installed it did to make it fit (which was both dangerous and against code), explained to me why the replacement breaker I ordered to replace it would never have worked correctly, and worked with me to decide which breakers to remove that we didnt really need in an otherwise full panel that most electricians would have suggested we install a subpanel to accommodate the additional breakers.

If all their techs are this good I will absolutely hire them again. ****Be warned there is a dispatch fee that does not get absorbed into the cost of the job but thats a company thing. I was not informed of the dispatch fee when I set up the appointment so it was a little shock to find out about.

We used Martella in August 2021 when we began experiencing flickering problems in our home. They were very professional but very very pricey. I think our initial evaluation cost $500, including the membership savings fee which gives you 15% off future jobs and "first dibs" on future jobs. Mark was our electrician, and told us the problem was due to the fact that our board was overloaded and loose.

He encouraged us to replace it. And I think the quote we got for replacing/upgrading two boards to 60 circuits with surge protector was $8000-9000. I was an inexperienced new homeowner and failed to do my research w/ competitor pricing. Thinking it was an emergency (largely my fault), we went ahead with replacing one board which was $7000 including labor and parts.

The team was nice and professional - They cleaned up after themselves. Did it solve the flickering? Not really - it still happens, but at a lesser frequency so I am unsure what exactly is the problem. After speaking to other electricians, I realized we egregiously overpaid - The quotes I got for comparable work by other recognized/recommended companies were 50-60% of Martella's price. Needless to say, I learned a valuable lesson that day - While one company may have stellar reviews online, make sure you do your research and get quotes from multiple sources to ensure you get the best deal. Would I use Martella again? Unlikely. Although their work is good, I don't necessarily think it was worth an arm and a leg.

Good service with clear explanation of service and cost. Reported that one service requested was not needed. Your guys were pleasant and respectful. James & Jim arrived on time and knocked off an impressive number of tasks on our list. The main concern was safety - converting wet location outlets to GFCIs. What wasn't done was put on a list along with recommended upgrades to further improve safety and functionality. Clean up was thorough, and their manner was professional throughout. Hats off!

I called Martella because they were listed in the Best of Delco book. They confirmed the appointment on Friday and I got a text and emailed with the picture of Brian so I would know who to expect. Communication is SO important! We had to have them fix all of the things in our house that were suppose to already have been connected to our $10,000. whole house generator installed a year ago by Terra.

It wasn't until we lost power did we know how few things they hooked up. We called and emailed them several times and got no response. Thankful that Martella is our new electricians.

The electrician Jim replaced the GFI outlet that my refrigerator was connected to. Fortunately this saved me the cost of a new refrigerator which I nearly purchased before contacting Martella Electric. In addition, Jim patiently explained the problem with the outlet and the solution to fix it first with me and then my daughter. And if that wasn't enough he also looked at another electrical issue outside my house at no cost.

I've used Martella in the past and find that they are solid, honest and do excellent work. I definitely will hire them for any future work and highly recommend them to others

Andrew arrived on time, clearly explained three options to repair the problem, and then quickly made the repair based on my request. He was very friendly and helpful. A very nice, knowledgeable young man.

We have been experiencing power flickers and it turned out to be peco line down a few months back, which damaged our meter box. Andrew from Martella handled the repair work. It was an emergency and they were able to complete the repairs the same day within few hours. I think we were lucky that Martella had techs available to help us in resolving the issue the same day. We have a follow up safety inspection in a few weeks, I'll update my feedback after that as well. Thanks for the timely help.

Mark did a walkthrough for an EV charging installation, and was very clear and knowledgeable in discussing the different options available for the EV charger type and location. We haven't made a decision yet, but are very satisfied with the quote/evaluation process.

The technician provided an estimate for a Tesla wall charger. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, on time, and helpful. If I move forward with the Tesla purchase, I will definitely use Martella Electric. For installation, Brian showed up on time. He was thorough and left the area cleaner than when he arrived. Hired Martella to install Tesla charger outlets in my garage. Every aspect of their work was great. Called me to confirm appointment days before, sent me a text when the electrician was on his way, they even send the profile of the person they are sending so you can confirm it is the right person at your door. Mark could not have been nicer and more polite and the work was great. It was a bigger job than I anticipated but the work was seamless. I would hire them again without hesitation and recommend that others do the same.
