In June, students from Oregon, Washington, Alaska, and Idaho will participate in the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) Youth Tour. High school juniors and seniors who live in our service area have the opportunity once a year to apply for an all-expense-paid trip to Washington D.C. to learn about the electric utility industry and how the Federal legislative process works. Salem electric is a terrible company and will shut off your electricity off without calling you for $100 bill. If I would have gotten a phone call I would have taking care of my bill promptly as I thought it was on auto pay. Be aware they will not call you and just shut your electricity off I had a terrible experience and their service personnel are terrible and will not work with you and charge a huge re-hook fee.
I've been a customer for over three years and that I have always paid my bill this is no way to treat loyal customers, if I could choose another electric company I would. 100% thumbs down

I have never had a problem with Salem Electric. The staff have always been kind and never rush me. They have a one time program where they can help you out with a portion of your bill. I went in there and mind you I'm bi-polar and was having a really down day, I was stressed I was very depressed and thought that they honestly wouldn't help me because I was unemployed at the time.
Not only did they help me, the lady who I forget her name and I feel horrible over it, she listened to me when I just started crying and had a total I guess you could say, everything that was happening just came out. She listened to me and let me cry gave me tissues and was just there. I have made a promise that I will always live in a Salem Electric area because of that reason and this happend on the 31 of January 2017. They have a customer for life
