I had an urgent need to check out the power to an old home in Santa Monica. It was 1:30 in the afternoon. I called Gil and he was very professional, I explained my situation that I was only in town for the day and needed to get the situation checked. He said he could help and arrived about 40 minutes later. He spent the good part of an hour going through the service from the street through the breakers and through out the house.
Even into the basement and up into the attic. He was able to locate the issue and we got it solved. I was very impressed and thankful he could address my issues so quickly. His price was very fair.

Gill is a terrific electrician. He came quickly, and was masked and gloved when he entered our house. Gill quickly identified the problem and determined it would take some time to repair. Instead, he bypassed the problem area and arranged an other appointment to do the full repair. That went well too. We definitely recommend Gil and Amor Electric.

Gil is an honest and fair electrician and I am so glad I called him when I had some electrical issues. He took his time to try to help me over the phone initially and when I wasn't able to fix it myself he came over promptly and fixed the problem. He explained things well and was friendly. I highly recommend him.

Amazing! I was in a bind having Airbnb-era at my house with the circuit breaker not working and not sure what to do on a Sunday. The man I spoke to was so nice, made himself available to come over despite it being a busy time but more importantly gave me some tips to see if I could fix it myself. (The only one of several I called who was conscious of my time and money.) Turns out he was able to help me via phone and get the problem solved right away without having to come over and he didn't charge me. When does that ever happen?!? I'm so appreciative of them and will DEFINITELY call them first for all my electrical needs going forward. Thank you!

What a concept! You call an electrician at 10:30 am and he shows up at 12:30 to do the work! A timer, mounted in a light switch box for controlling some outside lighting, had failed and left the lights on all the time. Gil asked for a photo of the installation, which I took and texted him, along with my address. I told him I had a doctor's appointment at noon, but that my wife would be home.
At about 12:30 I got a text that he was at the house. When I got home at 1, he had a new switch mounted and was just testing it. He asked me about on/off times and programmed them in. He left around 1:30 (3 hours after I had initially called him) and the job was complete. His charge was reasonable. I now have a new electrician!

This guy has a degree in electrical Engineering. He knows his stuff! Today was a rainy day, and I decided to replace the exterior outlet, after that, the switch that controlled the exterior light blew several fuses in the house. So after realizing it was above my pay grade I started calling all the local electricians and Gil was the fastest to answer and got here in 30 minutes.
It took him maybe 10 minutes to figure out the outlet issue ( was me improperly wiring it) AND he also fixed a 3 way switch that previous electrician could not figure out. All in all he was done in 40 min. Gil is very efficient, professional and pleasant to work with!

This is my second review for Gil and Amor Electric, and I will continue to call Gil for all future electrical issues. I needed an electrician to assist the installation of new motors by the Shade Store. Unfortunately, the electrician would need to wait while the installers mounted the new unit after the electrician powered down the old one. From the moment I called Gil, he was professional and went out of his way to assist with my one-off request. When the work was completed, I was charged $50 less than what I was quoted. This is a no-brainer! Call Amor Electric -- promise you will be so happy with the outcome!

Gil and Fernando are amazing and I would highly recommend them! Very professional and delivered great work. Even though they're based in Santa Monica, they made time to make it over to Westwood to perform a much needed electrical repair to one of my outlets. Gil even took time to help me remotely troubleshoot the issue initially. Fernando arrived and was fast in determining and fixing the issue. I have a more electrical work that I would like them to work on and they're definitely my go to for electrical services moving forward. Highly recommend.

We needed some work done, and it wasn't the easiest. Chandelier needed to be installed, and needed its own switch. We wanted to add a pendant light above our kitchen counter, and it needed to get on the same switch as the other 2. We also had a ceiling fan that had been installed wrong (by us, because another electrician hadn't been able to figure out how to install it, so we did it ourselves), and was connected to the wrong switch. Fernando came right on time, was super clean, did everything perfectly, and really exceeded my expectations. First, because we've had bad experiences with people leaving behind a lot of dust and dirt. Second, because he brought a laser that allowed him to make sure the chandelier was being hung exactly in line with the center of the window. Third, because he took the time to talk to me about all of the switches in our bedroom and ask exactly what we wanted each to do (there are a lot, it's a confusing switch situation.) I was kind of jaded by previous electrician work, but Gil was great to work with over the phone (pointed out a lot of things I hadn't thought of), and Fernando was really awesome at doing the work. Gil took note that we were having an urgent issue at the house and worked us into his busy schedule. He came by within two hours' time and went through our outlets, fuse box and local wiring to help us assess the issue. As it turns out, the problem was not within the house but one with Edison. Gil let me know how to explain the issue to them.
They in turn came out and fixed the problem that day. We honestly had no idea where to begin, and by calling in an expert we were able to get what appeared to be a big problem resolved quickly and inexpensively.

I found Gil and Amor Electric here on Yelp, had never used before. Amor went above and beyond on the job of not only replacing the ugliest light fixture in LA but flawlessly replacing 80, yes 80! year old lighting in a building that once served as the Venice City Hall. The owner Gil and the amazing Fernando worked for an entire day and solved a problem that other LA electricians could not. Arrived on time, called half way through the day to check everything was going ok and exceeded all expectations.
In all they removed all the old fixtures and track lights and installed a stunning vintage brass chandelier after installing a entirely new J box, wired power from the new chandelier (Into the area above the ceiling! No holes at all) to a beam in the ceiling and installed all new LED Lithonia track lights. I am beyond impressed how they did this without leaving any holes or patch work, total geniuses to use the track to cover the tiny hole for all the new wiring to the new lights.
On top of that they replaced 6 additional track lights with all LEDS in another part of the building. Took care of all trash and came beyond prepared with all the parts we didn't even know we would need after removing the old fixture. The great customer service, how quickly the work was done and the incredibly low price for such a hug job is why I felt the need to post this review.
I will post a few pictures so you can see. Great electrician for any of your projects! THANK YOU GIL, we will absolutely be calling you for all future jobs. You guys are the greatest! The new lights are so great and we enjoy your work every day. AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE! THANK YOU!

This owner of this business was so unbelievably rude to me today. I am disappointed with their business. I called yesterday to ask if they could install a chandelier and I wasn't sure if I could make a new hole in the ceiling for the electric or had to use the one already there, because my neighbors said they couldn't install a new one, because there was something blocking in the ceiling and all of our units are identical.
I asked for someone to come to see if I could move the chandelier over to the center of the room. When Fernando came today, he was very nice and patient. I had him look in the ceiling to see if we could make a new hole and he said yes or that we could just keep it where it was. I wasn't sure if I wanted to move it or keep it so I called my boyfriend asking and then took a couple minutes looking at the room and thinking.
Then Fernando asked if I would just rather him come back another day when I knew for sure what I wanted to do. So I said yes and asked him if I owe him anything for his visit today and he said no. I told him I would call tomorrow to book. He was very helpful. Then 20 minutes later, I get a call from the owner, yelling at me saying why would he send his guy over here if I didn't want to install a chandelier and that I cost him so much money as a company sending someone out here for 20 minutes.
He kept repeating himself again again demeaning and belittling me saying "it's not complicated; if you want to move the chandelier, then move it. you don't ask for someone to come there and tell them to leave. This is ridiculous." The whole time on the phone I am trying to explain to him what happened and he is just shouting at me. I finally told him he had lost me as a customer.
A business owner should never speak to anyone like that. Now hours later I get a call from someone else at the company insisting on the same thing of why would I have someone come if I didn't install a chandelier. I again said that Fernando asked if he should come back another day when I was completely sure. Regardless, she just ignored me and very upset because my boyfriend had posted a bad review, which I am glad he did.
The only apology I got was a "sorry for the miscommunication." Nothing at all about "sorry for his behavior. That is unacceptable" or anything like that. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a potential electrician to NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They do not value their customers at all, let alone even treat them with an ounce of respect. Unbelievably disappointed and I cannot stress anymore that you should find another electrician, because the owner of this company is flat out mean to his customers.

WARNING strong language below: I don't think I've ever encountered a business owner be so rude and harassing to me and my girlfriend before. The employee that he sent to our home for an initial consultation was very nice and patient, but then a few hours after we got a very surprising and rude phone call from the owner where he berated my girlfriend and made her cry on the phone.
Safe to say he lost any future business from us or any friends we know, and I will be actively looking for a different company to work with and will follow up with a review and recommendation. I wonder how poorly he treats his own employees if he even treats customers like this. Absolutely unacceptable behavior.
