Wagner began a small, electrical contracting company out of his home. Wagner specialized in providing labor for companies looking for high-quality work and superior customer service. Over the years, Wagner's business grew through word of mouth from satisfied customers.He eventually expanded his operation and moved into his first office in 1975. Wagner's sons, Christopher and Michael, worked in the business growing up and upon graduating from the University of Louisville in 1971, joined their father full-time.

Wagner Electric Company Receives the IEC National Award of Excellence in Electrical Construction - Industrial. Wagner Electric provided material, labor, supervision and design assistance for a 5 story structure housing a new industrial spray dryer. After several years of losing our electric due to wind and ice storms, I wanted a generator for our house. My husband wanted to just bury the electric lines coming into the house, but I wanted a backup! I contacted several electric companies that sold generators. I researched, compared several generators and compared several companies that. installed them.
I decided that the GENERAC was the one for us. I had several neighbors that had that brand. I was told by one of my neighbors that Wagner Electric installed a generator for them. Although there was a back order on the GENERAC generator, it was installed today. I can not praise the professionalism and the work ethics of the guys that installed it, Bill, Bryan and Nick!
They worked in the cold for over 7 hrs to get my generator installed and running. After they left I noticed my furnace thermostat saying error. I called Steve that sold me the generator and he said that the guys would turn around and be right back, they came back and the fixed it! Thank you Wagner Electric Employees!
