Services
We install a wide variety of lighting products which include accent, ambient, decorative, wall washing, task illumination and wet location lighting. Our choosen brand of recessed fixtures is Lightolier. Recessed lighting: Installation includes a lighting design developed to a personal level, implementation of design that best fits structure and budget, and we even repair any wallboard opened for installation.
Service and Consultation Rates: Please note that projects are not subject to these rates. Projects are typically not charged on an hourly basis; service and consulatation rates are charged on hourly rates. Post installation support: defective device, we charge 1/2 of our standard rates up to the first 30 days.
Some of my outlets are not working in my kitchen, bathroom or exterior receptacles. Most of the time there's an associtate GFCI (ground fault circuit interrupter) that trips upon a ground fault or load imbalance. We get a ton of calls on these and drive endless miles just to push a reset button on a GFI outlet.

We used Staples Electric a few years ago to bring the electrical system of an older home up to date and to install wired smoke detectors throughout the house. An inspector from FFX County showed up and checked all the electrical work, which included a whole new electrical panel and sub panel to a large backyard shed. Passed first time. I will not use any other electrician as long as I reside in Northern Virginia. Very professional. Highly recommended.

Craig Staples was outstanding. I was having a problem with a series of outlets that were not functioning. I thought the problem was a bad GFI, but it wasn't the problem. I sent an email to Staples Electric, and Craig wrote back to me promptly. I made an appointment by email and he arrived on the day of the appointment within the given timeframe.
He diagnosed the issue thoroughly and restored power to my outlets. Throughout the diagnosis, he was very pleasant and answered all my questions. He also charged me exactly what he quoted me for the work, which I thought was quite reasonable. I will definitely refer my future electrical works for my house to him.

Top notch service. I e-mailed Staples Electric late in the evening for an estimate on some electric work I wanted to have done. I received a call early the next morning from Charlene and was able to schedule an appointment for Craig to come out to give the estimate. Craig arrived on-time and was very knowledgeable with his plans for the work. He seemed down to earth, honest and didn't try to up-sell or recommend anything that I didn't need.
His estimate was very competitive -- one of the lowest of the 6 estimates I received. If you are looking for an electrician, I highly recommend giving Staples Electric a call!

Great service, I felt like I was in capable hands. Diagnosed the problem with clarity, explained the fix, completed the fix like a boss, and then cleaned up. The problem was caused by a slapdash contractor that I made the mistake of using for a bathroom remodel. I just felt such peace of mind when Staples' guy showed up and figured out what was going on and fixed it. Their standard house visit rate is $135 and I think that is reasonable for their expertise.

Had a complicated electrical issue during our basement remodel last year. The first company who looked at the problem said we would need to tear out a bunch of drywall and estimated 8-12 hours of work. I called Staples to get a 2nd opinion. Craig came by in person to discuss the problem then sent an electrician out the very next day. Craig's man fixed our problem in less than an hour without touching a single piece of drywall. Had a another small issue with some 3 way switches this week. Called Staples on Friday and they sent a tech out Monday morning first thing. Their tech showed up on time, was very friendly, and did a great job. Cannot say enough good things about this company. They are friendly, efficient, and honest to a fault.

During our kitchen renovation, we've found reliable and quality electricians, at Staples Electric. Craig and his employees are prompt, courteous, and above all, experts at what they do. Iggy for example, is a fantastic electrician who's circuits look like works of art. Craig, the owner, is very invested in educating the customer in what's available and what he recommends without being too pushy.
They have done a complete rewire of our kitchen and have replaced our electrical panel for our house. Every time they've come they've been awesome about cleaning up after themselves. I would agree with the rave reviews that led me to them.

Have been shopping electricians for awhile now and finally found someone to stick with. Iggy came over today for a simple ceiling fan replacement and it was such a great experience. No icky energy, very professional, quick. Highly recommend. (Also, they squeezed me in, which I did not ask for, but definitely appreciated.)

We found Staples on Angie's List. Five stars for our technician! He was fast, efficient and friendly. I am completely satisfied with his work and would definitely recommend him. I did find the customer service department less than five stars however. We had an emergency come up within an hour of making the appointment. When I tried to cancel I was informed I had to give five days notice or I would be charged; the appointment was made for Thursday on Tuesday, two days prior. Despite the very odd situation, I would use Staples again.

Thanks fellow yelppers and angies list! Great, great service.very kind/polite, considerate, and professional. Had our light/fan fixture replaced, troubleshoot & fixed several other light fixtures. Cleaned up any debris that fell. I really enjoyed that he also provided tips on lighting and energy efficient methods. Found our go-to electrician! I found Staples on a neighborhood Yahoo Group and they came highly recommended. I can see why! These guys were top notch rom my first meeting with Craig Staples, until the work was complete. I originally called them to run a new circuit for an induction stovetop. When Craig came, he looked at the job and also examined my electric panel which was a mess.
He gave me what I felt was a fair estimate and his team was able to come when I needed. They installed my new line and came the next day to clean up my panel and take care of some electric hazards in my house. They even solved a 3-way switch problem for me. If I have another electrical need, I would definitely call Staples.

Very happy with Staples Electric. We have used them for several jobs, from a new outlet for the dryer to several Electric boxes for ceilings fans. They have always clean, courteous and quick. When we had two ceiling fan electrical boxes installed they brought several guys, got it done quickly and installed the fans. Upon our second time booking them, the owner stopped by to introduce himself. We recommended them to friends and they were also happy with the work.

Called the number from the Yelp page to make an appointment. Left a message but did not receive a call back within a day. I noticed their web site had a different phone number which I called instead, left a message. They called back within 20 minutes and setup an appointment for an electrician to come out. They told me he had another job and was expected to be available at 10:00 on the appointment day.
At 9:45, the electrician called to say he had finished and was on this way. Arrived around 10:05. Our issue was flickering lights in the bedroom. Electrician ran some tests in room then on circuit box and determined issue was with bad circuit breaker. Didn't have a replacement on truck but offered to go to local store to buy one. Charged us the price he paid at store for the part. Charges by the hour, including getting the part. Overall - it was less expensive than I expected, the electrician was very professional and efficient. Very happy with their service and will use them again.

They installed fans and some light switches and fixtures. They were fast and very friendly. Only complaint is that it is kind of a pain to set up an appointment. You call and speak to someone then have to wait for someone to call you back. You never talk to the electrician until they are at your house. Prices are good and we are using them again, as soon as someone calls me back.

I cannot recommend Staples Electric enough. We had them come and give us an estimate for a wide variety of work in our 75 year old Arlington home and they delivered everything as promised. They did the work on time and under budget and the workmanship is excellent. We had a small issue with our generator connection after they installed it and Staples immediately sent someone to fix the issue with no additional cost to us.
Everyone who came in to our home was friendly, personable and very conscientious. They arrived on time, left on time and cleaned up beautifully. They're very responsive by email and are always available to answer questions and don't get flustered if you need or want to change something or add something at the last minute. We have more electric work to be done as we remodel areas of our home and we won't consider anyone but Staples to do the job for us.
