I can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review of Hein. I've used them 4 times so far and they are absolutely my go to for all things electrical in my house. They have done wiring, new outlets, new boxes, installed ceiling fans and new outdoor security lights so far and everything has been flawless. Really clean work. Reasonably priced, easy to schedule and the guys that have arrived at my house to do the work have all been awesome. Jenny who does scheduling in the office is incredible as well!

Thanks Jenny! It's so hard to find good companies to work with these days. Most won't even return your call! Hein is different. Give them a call. You'll be glad you did.

My previous Electrical Contractor abandoned the project. I called around different contractors but none of them match up to Hein Lighting and Electric. When I first met with Nate from Hein for the first time I was immediately impressed. He was very professional, sympathetic, I was confident I was in good hands, that he had come to my rescue, and that my nightmare was finally ending. Nate, Brian and Juan were all very quick and professional throughout the project.

Great workmanship, it was completed with PERFECTION. They are heroes! Jenny was fantastic when I talked to her on the phone and e-mails. I highly recommend Hein Lighting and Electric. If I need any more work to be done, big or small, I will definitely call Hein Lighting and Electric.

Have used Hein on several occasions at two properties. They have always been helpful, reliable and professional. Today they fitted me in for a defective ceiling light in the kitchen at short notice. Steve turned up as scheduled and communicated well. Not only did he repair the light fixture he secured it to the ceiling safely ( previously at risk of falling!) Highly recommend and much appreciated. Brian was also very helpful with scheduling.

I had a emergency and John scheduled me an appointment right on the spot I am so thankful to this company and they are right in Martinez, CA. I called this company as they were referred to us. We asked to make an assessment of our parking lot lights. A man named Nate came and did not even walk around our property because he said he didn't have to wait for our Maintenance Supervisor so he just asked our Operations Director how many lights are out. Then he left. Apparently, there are other issues that needs assessment.

I called the business and spoke with Jenny. I advised how the assessment went through and I told her the other issues that needs assessment. I asked if this is a typical process of their walk through she said they are swamped and usually free estimate is not too detailed but should have gone and did a walk through. She also said if you would like to have someone go back it will be $135.

I didn't care about the estimate fee but the first job to estimate was already a fail. (It wasn't about the fee but the quality of service.) I needed an estimate that comes from the assessment he has done. She laughed sarcastically and said that let's just get over it. I don't have time to argue with you. No one was arguing with her.

She said she can have someone go back. I lost my interest doing business with them. I said, no need as I think I should just go somewhere else who doesn't insult their customers. I was even being understanding to their situation. She was inconsiderate, unprofessional and rude. I was about to refer them to the other businesses who are needing repairs for their parking lots.

It was very disappointing. I was being kind and understanding to all people who are in service business especially nowadays but how can you be kind if people like her (Jenny) would act like that?

The first thing that I appreciated was the on-time arrival for both the initial appointment and then when the electrician came. The price was reasonable and the response time for returning calls and emails was great. Their electrician was very professional, very helpful and was willing to answer all my questions.

We had a few punch list items that we needed an electrician for and we called Hein after many members in our neighborhood recommended them. We were able to make an appointment within the week with Casey. Casey showed up and blew us away with how knowledgeable he was on all of projects and what needs to be done without being condescending or dismissive. He was very personable, efficient and hard working. Days later, my husband and I are still enamored with his work and what a great experience it was.

Rick Mercado, the service manager came out to my place of business to give an estimate for some repairs. He was very professional and courteous. The estimate for the repairs was reasonable and I received the quote the same day. The electrician that came out to do the work was also very professional and pleasant to talk to. I would recommend Hein Lighting & Electric to anyone who needs an electrical contractor.

Once to replace an outside outlet that was ancient and dangerous Second to change out light fixtures and ceiling lights Both times they went over and above Professional, on time, extremely helpful with suggestions for improvement and worked efficiently Will consider them our "Go To" electricity experts for future rewire. Looking for a local business to handle a circuit panel issue, Hein was able to accommodate us in one day, which was quite a change from the other services I attempted to reach. I left messages with most, a few no calls and many telling me it would be several weeks to come out. Their electrician Steve checked in by phone the following morning, came over a early and was efficient, thorough and professional. Hein Lighting and Electric will be our electrical contractor should we need future services.

We called Hein Electric when we had a serious problem with the electrical system in an old home. Jim Hein, the owner of Hein Electric in Martinez, responded immediately and made restoring the power to our home in a timely fashion his number one priority. The job was a complicated one which included replacing the 61 year old electrical box. He personally oversaw the process making sure that the proper permits were obtained, the right technicians were dispatched and continually coordinating with PGE and staying in close contact with us.

We truly appreciate the miracle Jim and his administrative staff and crew of technicians performed at our house. Business owners who are capable and care like Jim are a rare find these days and we highly recommend his company to anyone needing electrical work done at their home or business. Thank you Jim!

I used Hein Lighting and Electric to hang a couple of chandeliers and to inspect and fix a few lights in my Kitchen. A week prior to the service Rick, their service manager came out and provided an free consultation and estimate which the company adhered to. On the day of service, Casey their electrician, was on time, polite, and professional. Upon inspecting the lights in my kitchen, Casey thoroughly explained my situation and options.

He provided me a way to update and improve the lighting by replacing the lights at minimal additional cost and time, and without any pressure of "up selling" me a service or expensive parts. Both Rick and Casey provided excellent and professional service. They improvised a way to hang a hard to reach chandelier above my stairs by building a platform.

Upon completion of the job, they cleaned every surface they touched and vacuumed everywhere they walked. I highly recommend this company and will use them for all lighting and electrical needs.

I called this company to get an estimate on installing a manual transfer switch to use with a portable generator (last year PGE shut the power off twice for up to 4 days). The electrician I originally was going to use to do the job never showed up to do the job! The first thing that impressed me about this company was a real human being answered on my first attempt to call the company.

She made an appointment for an inspection of my house. The two estimators from the company arrived ON TIME exactly as promised! These two estimators then followed through and actually provided me with estimate as promised for the project. The estimate was not a two or three page contract with fine print but straight forward and understandable. Upon accepting the estimate, the company arranged for a crew to come out to do the work. "JP, " Frederic and Marciano came out to look at my house and then arranged to show-up the next week to do the work.

The work was technically and mechanically done extremely well! Considering the wiring that was done, the transfer switch and metal conduit were esthetically located so as not to be too ugly. These guys also assembled my new generator, poured fuel into the generator tank and got it working (I purchased a new Westinghouse House generator; works great!).

They plugged in the house battery backup system, tested the transfer switch, and totally cleaned up (absolutely no debris on our new wooden floors). The crew was careful to cover the floors with drip cloths to prevent damage to the floor! All in all, I was extremely impressed and very pleased with the work done by JP, Frederic and Marciano! From my experience, they did NOT do good job, they did an outstanding job!

I highly recommend anyone who needs to have some wiring and electrical work done, contact Hein Electrical. Their work (at least with JP and his crew) is an example of technical people taking PRIDE in doing an outstanding job!

I called in the morning, a live person answered the phone (!), and I had an appointment booked for only a few hours later. Nate, the electrician, was wonderful! He stopped by early (after calling first) to make sure he brought the correct part. He arrived on time. He installed a 4 prong outlet to replace a 3 prong, and even moved our dryer to get access.

He was friendly and worked quickly, and doubled-checked to make sure everything worked before leaving. The price was very fair. These will be the only electricians we call in the future!

I called in with my partial outage problem at 9:30 AM and Nate of Hein Lighting and Electric had it FIXED by 12:45 within an hour's visit. And this is in the middle of a pandemic! This company makes you feel like they know their stuff and they care about their clientele. Thanks for the help!

My wife and I purchased a hot tub and needed the electrical hook up. Jim Hein came out to our house the same day to see where we wanted the tub and assess the best panel from which to draw the power. The next day, two of his very kind team members, Mandy and Juan, started the work. Over the next few days, Jim and his team worked to make the connections and asked for my input along the way.

The entire team was extremely professional and polite, and I am very pleased with the finished product. As an added bonus, when Juan was under my house pulling wire, he found a leak from my washer drain, and was later able to fix the problem for me! I highly recommend Hein Electric.

Very disappointed in this business. Rick came out two weeks ago (on a Wednesday) so we could discuss our needs. He said he would send a quote by the following Monday. By that Thursday, I had still not received the quote. I called the office and they said they would check on it, and get the quote to me by the following Monday. That Monday, came and went, still no quote.

It has been 2 weeks now, since our meeting with Rick, and there is still no sign of a quote and no word from the business. I would be hesitant to use a business with this type of poor follow-up.

I highly recommend Hein Electric for all your electrical problems. We have been doing business with them for many years. I have to mention Jay, he's an extremely professional and skilled electrician, with a very busy schedule and he always makes time for our urgent electrical problems or even will come and help to replace a light-bulb that is too high to reach.

We just used Hein Electric for some projects in our new house. We had 5 ceiling fans changed out, 2 sets of wall sconces replaced, a dining room light and foyer light replaced and a bathroom light replaced.key word, replaced.all of the electrical wiring was in already. Rick came out to look at the job and acted like there was nothing out of their scope, so we set a date.

We chose the "by the hour" pricing, since we figured 2 guys would bang this out in 2 days. 5 days later.we finally had to tell the worker he needed to be done.they moved like snails all week and I even called mid week to complain about it. We asked them to add on running power to a new location for a TV we installed over the fireplace. Instead of telling us that we would have to pay by the hour as the "figures out" how, they just took two days of investigating it.

Long story short, we paid $4,000 for all the lighting and fans, and got a bill for $6,100 to install it all! Shocking! I sent a complaining email, and it has been crickets! We will pay the bill, but never again will we use or recommend this company. Side note.have since had our pool house fan replaced.45 mins and $80 to install.duh!

John S. from Hein quickly diagnosed the problem with my dedicated PC outlet. He fixed that issue and made me aware of some potential safely issues. He was professional, thorough and very helpful. I would definitely call Hein again for any electrical issues.

I had a couple electrical projects I needed done at my home and I needed them done quickly. Called Hein and got Jenny in their office. She was awesome! Got me scheduled for an estimate within days and projects completed 4 days later. Mike the electrician was thorough, conscientious and did very clean work. Price was very reasonable as well. Next time I need more electrical done it will Hein.

Hein Electric recently installed some much needed expansion circuits in my garage area, and I couldn't be more pleased with the quality of their work. The entire process was very painless, and the work looks as if it was part of the existing shop wiring. They were prompt, courteous, efficient, and helpful from proposal to completion. I'll definitely be scheduling more work with Hein Electric in the future.

Had a problem with lights and plugs not working in upstairs bedroom. We had a rat in the attic a couple of months ago and while we got rid of the rat we thought it had chewed thru some wires and this would make the problem difficult to find and correct. 8:30 appt today. Technician showed up around 9:15. Traffic on 680. Understandable. Technician quickly determined the problem was a faulty breaker switch. Fixed in less than a hr for under $250. Very professional! I will use this company the next time I have an electrical problem

I had them come out to my business to give me a quote on re lighting a 4,000 sq ft area. First off, they were really late to the fist appointment. Second, I never received a quote. I was told that I was going to receive it by the end of the week, however, nothing came. I called two weeks later and was told that it would come again, by the end of day, and again, nothing. I guess they don't want our business. I even called them specifically because I wanted t work with a local company, but I guess they had better work somewhere else.

I called two weeks ago on a Friday and the office said they would be out on the following Weds to look at the job and provide a quote. Not a problem. The service manager, Rick Mercado came out on the following Weds very close to the appointment time. He was very nice and took his time to walk around the outside of my home and understand my requirements.

He also provided me a nice overview of the difference between using high intensity lighting and LED lighting. He took notes and told me the quote would be sent to me by Friday or over the weekend. More than a week later I have not received a quote. I called the office (yesterday) after one week and was told that I am not the only one waiting for a quote but she would find out the status and get back to me.

I never heard back. The next day I called her back and she said they are just swamped and would try to get the quote out by this afternoon. Still no quote after a week and half. When I spoke with the office manager she also said it is a FREE quote and implied they didn't have to rush since I wasn't paying for anything. When I said, to this point it has been worth exactly what I paid for it she said I could always find another contractor.

If they are that unreliable with the timing for a quote then what will it mean for their (estimate) time frame for starting and completing a job when they say, not to mention the cost? Very disappointing.

Years ago, when I bought my first house with my wife and we decided to go crazy remodeling the place, Hein Lighting completely rewired the house and upgraded the service panel. When my ex-wife and I decided to get a divorce and I decided to move out and build a granny unit onto a house and rent the main part out, Hein Lighting split the service panels.

After I became a general contractor, I took on a job digging a basement for an office and a ceramics studio under a house in the Oakland Hills and Hein Lighting did the wiring. When I moved my business to Sacramento and did not know any electrician in the area, Hein Lighting came all the way to Sacramento to completely rewire, upgrade the service panel, put in several (several as in 10 or 20) sub panels and helped me create a smart house.

I have used Hein Lighting & Electric many times over the last 25 years and they have always completed their work on time and I have never been shocked by their prices. I have learned how to do most of my own small wiring projects but when I get something that I feel is over my head, I still buzz Hein Lighting & Electric. Now if they would only get a decent logo that doesn't look like something out of the eighties. (I probably should have taken a star off for the logo.) The Wizard says; check it out.

What a rip off! Charged me $600 for going to the shop to get the parts and took his time (4hrs) to reconnect an electrical plug. Said he came at 8am when he came at 8:20am. I couldn't wait to get rid of the electrician from this company. I feel so cheated for such a simple job.

John Stull from Hein Lighting and Electric provides outstanding service. He is a seasoned electrician and put his skills easily to use in solving my electrical problem. I don't know that someone less experienced could have figured it out as elegantly as he did. Turns out my fairly new fancy professional grade hair dryer was the culprit. It caused all sorts of funky problems. Luckily it was a quick, easy fix for him. I highly recommend John to anyone who needs electrical work.
