Had the best experience with AJ Electric and highly recommend them for your electrical services! Andrew the proprietor was absolutely fantastic. He was able to help me diagnose an issue that I've paid a couple other electricians to "fix" problem, just for the same issue to come back. Andrew however knew quickly what the issue was and fixed it!

Not just for the time being but for good! Haven't had an issue again. Since, I have called him on a few other items in my house, and has been nothing but professional and fair with each service. I've paid less, but every time, I got less. Just found out he does both residential and commercial. My business is about to add an addition and AJ Electric is absolutely who I'm going with.

Not making the same mistake I did at home using other companies that may bid a little less. I'm going with Andrew because not only are his quotes fair every time, but the work is right every time! Had to pass this along. Definitely worth giving Andrew a call.

I had a small electrical job that many electricians in San Francisco wouldn't have bothered to come out for (or so I was told by one, cue eye roll), so I was thrilled when Jamie said she could help. We scheduled her visit for one week out (this was not emergent or pressing, which I conveyed to her), and she texted the day of to confirm and give me an ETA which I *so* appreciated.

Beyond doing a great job, she was friendly to me and my toddler who was very curious about the work she was doing. And gave me a lower price than what she'd quoted on the phone "because it was an easy job"! I am thrilled to have a go-to electrician now and would happily recommend AJ Electric to anyone.

I have communicated with John through Yelp messaging to come for an estimate. We have agreed upon the time and I have sent him the address in a text message. He confirmed receiving it. And then he disappeared. He did not return my text message or phone call, and he did not show up at the appointed time. My time was wasted. It was very important that I get an electrician for that particular time. If John would cancel in advance, I could have secured someone else. However, he does not mind wasting people's time.

Customer service is amazing with AJ Electric. She answered my call first try and was able to come fix a blown fuse within a few hours of when I called. Will definitely be calling AJ Electric for all our electrical needs in the future.

Couldn't have been happier with my experience with Jamie at AJ Electric. She saved me so much on my job! So happy to now have an experienced electrician I can trust. I needed 3 electric wall heaters and 2 thermostats installed, with me supplying the replacements. I got quotes from ~10 electricians in San Francisco and AJ was by far the most competitive.

When Jamie was here she figured out that the only one of the heaters and both thermostats needed replacing. So I was able to return the two heaters I didn't use. I also asked her about a lighting fixture that was giving me issues. This wasn't part of my original ask, but she had the parts needed in her tool belt and fixed it on the spot!

She could have easily charged me for my initial quote and more for the lighting fixture replacement, but since the job took less time, she charged me less! She also explained everything to me : Thank you Jamie! Would high recommend AJ Electric! This is exactly the kind of family owned San Francisco business you want to support!

This is a review on a job completed by AJ Electric this past year for an eight unit building. AJ Electric replaced the PGE closet for the electrical service for the building. Out of all of the estimates I received for this job, the solution from AJ Electric was the best for the building. All the other electrical contractors suggested the easiest redesign. The job was completed on time and at an honest bid. This is a company that knows how to do business and does the job right.

John from AJ Electric was great! With all of this rain, water seeped into an electrical connection outside. This caused sparking noises and triggered my breaker to switch off. John came out to turn off the electrical currents to the damaged areas by the next morning. (We turned off the breaker until he arrived.) Although he was unable to make the repairs immediately due to his schedule, he provided a quote and a date to get it fixed.

This was two weeks out, but he made it possible to keep everything safe until that time. John arrived on time with his partner, worked quickly, kept me informed of the progress, and finished in just a little less than the time quoted. I found John and his partner extremely professional and reasonably priced. I will definitely keep AJ Electric as my go-to for electrical needs.

I had a minor issue at the house, which was to figure out why the doorbell from the outside wasn't working in one flat, but it worked for the other. John came by on relatively short notice (which I greatly appreciated) and figured out the problem that another electrician couldn't (over the course of three hours!). He not only identified the issue, he finished inside an hour and a half, and that included a quick run to get a part he didn't have.

Nice guy. He's actually from San Francisco (rare), comes from a family of electricians, and definitely knows his stuff. Would absolutely use him in the future and his rates are very reasonable. I saw a one star review and couldn't imagine John and his team leaving a mess or being unprofessional. He absolutely knew what he was doing and explained what was going on well. As of this review, he only had ten reviews, but don't let the lack of review volume deter you from at least reaching out and getting an estimate from him!

I've had John work on several projects for me over the last 3 or 4 years. He's always been great. My wife likes him because he leaves our place cleaned and neat, even mid-project. I once had an emergency issue on a weekend night, so I called a 24 hour service come. I asked them to look over another issue for us, to which he said he'd have to come back another time for because it's an all day job for $1,800. When John came he fixed it in 20 minutes and charged $120. Highly competent, honest, and easy to work and communicate with.

John is great. I have worked with him off and on over the past 9 years. He installed 220 in my garage for my dryer back in 2007, track lighting in my kitchen in 2008, and some recessed lighting in my downstairs in 2010. He has also troubleshot and repaired some issues I had with my electrical to my furnace over the past couple years, saving me a bunch of money. He is super responsive and a great worker. I highly recommend John for any of your electrical needs.

Worst electrician ever. Rude and unpleasant, very unproffesional. They also left a huge mess when they left and sub par job. Beware!

John the electrician and owner of AJ Electric is very busy. It took some time before I received an official quote. However I did receive a rough estimate via text the day after he came to perform his estimate. He was punctual and on time the day of my appointment. He was very observant and respectful, for example he asked if he should remove his shoes before entering my home.

His pricing is reasonable. His work is very thorough. He even patched up all the holes made in the closet. He came with his assistant Mike who was also a pleasure to work with. I had the following services: (1) an existing pull chain closet light converted to a LED strip light with a designated light switch; (2) a new LED closet light with designated switch was installed in a closet without an existing light source/power supply; and (3) a blown outlet was also replaced which was not even on my list of things to do but he took care of it.

John did a small residential job for me adding some security lights. They were on time and flexible with my schedule, did a great job, and cleaned up afterwards. They picked out the right fixtures for the job so I didnt have to think about it.

I've had John at A J Electric come out to work on various parts of our 4-unit Victorian several times. He has always been attentive, gentlemanly, prompt, and reasonably priced. What really makes him my favorite electrician, though, is his familiarity with antique fixtures, and his ability to get any odd-ball or custom fixture to wire up securely and properly to the ceiling or wall. I've had other electricians shrug their shoulders helplessly when there was no off-the-shelf standard part available.
